but yeah...I'm thinking about postponing going to university

dunno if it's what I want to do right now. I know I'd really like a break from studying, and I know I'd like to have time for my new band...

and I really don't know what I want to do in the future

Hmmm...if you want to give yourself to the music right now...then it'd probably be pretty wise if you postponed going to uni, I think...you should really think about that, though...=)

it's just...I have a great feeling about this band, and say if we get a chance to play some shows somewhere or do something great I don't want to miss out on that. I'll always regret it if I do that

and I mean I can always go to uni later, but musical chances might not come again...Idk

You're right, if you ask me...I mean, a year off study won't hurt you all that much...plus, music is your love, life I suppose...=)

Hmmm well I dunno how it works over there, but can't you play/make music at Uni? I know people in bands that are going to college. *shrug* I don't know the details though, so maybe its just a petty observation. Perhaps you could expand your band and play gigs and stuff at Uni? Of course, if you feel juggling music and academics, and a job is too much, I totally understand. Ah, the life of a student xD.

I mean of course I could do both, but I don't want to risk compromising anything...

 

at uni I would be studying Icelandic...can't really fit music into that

unis here don't work like that, and I mean I don't have to move far away to go there or stay at some campus. social life is different too I guess

 

anyway yeah, I don't want one to suffer because of the other

But yeah, I totally know what you're saying. I didn't let anything compromise my schoolwork, and that was hard.

I guess just pick whichever one you feel best about, and will help you in the longrun

yup, I mean if this band gets a chance to play anywhere cool (which judging by the type of music we play and the fact we're from Iceland, lol is good) I wouldn't be able to go because of university...and I'd hate myself for missing a chance like that

 

I mean education is important but I can always go do that. if I skip these great big musical chances they might not come again...

Yeah, yeah *nods* that totally makes sense. I suppose it's more open for uni over there? Because here, it's not as socially acceptable to go to school later in life. Even in your 20s. I have no idea why. I always tell my mom to go back to school, because she regrets not being in the graphic design industry. She believes its impossible because she's in her 40's, but there's no rules saying you can't...

 

Anyway, do what you want Fribs, you gotta live your life the way you want!!!

Yeah I agree. What she does now, she hates. Number crunching. Her doctor even told her she has too much stress (mostly from her job) but that's partially her fault too because she worries about stupid stuff a lot.

 

But anyway yeah, that's cool, that's how it should be, education open anytime. Although, biologically, you learn faster when you're young, but that shouldn't stop anyone.

yeah wow...that's a nightmare. stuck in some job you don't really like, stressed out over something you maybe think is important but really isn't...

 

good point. I'm not thinking about postponing going to uni for like 20 years lol, more like maybe 3-5 at most...

Yeah, today I actually convinced mom to go to school if she moves to North Carolina... I wonder if she'll actually stick by it though.

Well since my stepdad lost his job, he's gotten interviews for this company in north carolina. So if they offer him enough money, him and my mom might move to north carolina.

Well I'll be in Pennsylvania by the time they move, if they choose to do so. So when college is done for the summer, I'll just have to split my summer between NC and Chicago. *shrug*

Oh my gosh, I haven't mentioned that since I came back? o.o! Yeah, I'm going to Allegheny college... its in the northwestern side of Pennsylvania. Well I really want to travel in general too. I want to take a study abroad class when I'm a junior... Hopefully my life will be that of a vagabond!
