Sounds gross, but I won't knock it until I've tried it.

I had a cheesy chicken and rice casserole for dinner tonite, it was superb.

I am in your forum, posting grammatically accurate responses.

“Yeah, but Bobby’s a bit smarter than the average American, for hell’s sake, he’s an undercover cop most of the time, well the time that isn’t spent bitching on about Liz’s affairs,” answers Sarah, as there’s a knock at the door. “Do you want me to get that?”

“I’m up, so I may as well get the damn door,” you answer, as you walk up the pair of steps and to the door. You stop and open the door. You were half expecting it to be Brian or Rob, trying to get back into your mother’s arms again, but it isn’t, it’s a woman. “Ah, can I help you?”

“It’s Viking isn’t it?” she asks.

Holy shit, this woman knows your name.

“Yeah,” you answer shortly. “And you are?”

“Alison,” the woman answers. “Is your mother Ravyn home?”

“No she isn’t,” you answer. “She’s in hospital. Wait, who are you again?”

“Like I said before, the name’s Alison, Allie for short,” ‘Allie’ answers. “I haven’t seen you for quite some while Viking, how old are you now…twenty?”

“I seriously do not know who you are so I don’t see your business here,” you firmly state. “And no, I am not twenty, actually twenty-two.”

“Who’s this Vi?” asks Sarah, as you notice that Sarah had made herself comfortable beside you and you’d only noticed this now.

“Do you know someone called Alison or Allie?” you ask her, hoping she’ll have some answers.

“I think I’ve heard Dad mention it, once or twice, but Mum got the shits with him when he mentioned such a name,” she answers, as she looks from you to her. “Why?”

“I’m the Allie your Mum gets the shits with, whenever my name is mentioned around her or even to her,” Allie answers. “Are you talking about Rob when you speak of your Dad?”

“He’s my Dad,” Sarah answers. “What has he done this time around?”

“And you’re Mel, right?” Allie asks to Sarah.

“No, it is Sarah,” Sarah answers, looking a bit annoyed due to the fact that she and her twin always get mixed up when it comes to the names, even your Mother slips up sometimes and calls Mel Sarah or the other way around. It’s usually Sarah that gets annoyed, mostly. “How do you know my family?”

“Do you know about Brian?” she changes the topic.

“What part?” you ask. “The part that he’s my father or the part that he’s trying to be the father I never wanted or neglecting the role of a father?”

“How could the world not know about Brian?” Sarah sarcastically sighs.

“Yeah, I heard what he’s been doing and what he’s done to the family,” says Allie. “Ever since high school, he’s been a little shit and a half. Always causing trouble and shit like that, and never knowing when to keep his mouth shut. I see the times haven’t changed.”

“You look very familiar to me,” says Sarah. “Do I know you from somewhere?”

“Yeah, of coarse you would probably know me, darl,” answers Allie, smiling a little bit. “You were blind drunk the other night and you were throwing up in the back alley of the hotel in which I’m staying in. If it wasn’t for me, God knows what might’ve gotten to you before I got to you.”

“What do you mean ‘since high school’?” you ask. “You know Brian, you know Rob and you know my mother and yet, I’ve never heard of you? How is this possible?”

“If you think the world is tiny, think again,” Allie doesn’t answer your question. “Is anyone else home by any chance like Rob or Jo, or maybe even Daniel?”

“Now this is getting freaky,” you hear Sarah whisper softly to herself and she also states the truth as well.

“You know my aunt and uncle?” you ask.

“Of course I do, Joanna and Daniel, unless she’s back with Darren, is she?” asks Allie.

“Not that we know of, no,” you answer. “How do you know them?”

“How could I not know them?” asks Allie. “She’s my little sis.”

You’re at the point of telling Allie to fuck off and stop wasting her time, making up bullshit stories.

“You couldn’t be,” says Sarah. “That would make you our aunt to start with, and in that family, the only children are my mum and Jo.”

“And there’s me,” Allie adds. “And there’s also my husband if you want to count him in.”

“You have a husband?” you can’t help but to ask.

“Yeah, Trent and I have been together for about ten or so years,” she answers. “Are you saying you’ve never heard of me?”

“Basically, yes,” Sarah answers. “And I doubt that you’re related to us, because why would our mother not tell us about you? And where have you been for so many years?”

“It’s a very long story, darl, but when your mum gets better, I bet she’ll be thrilled to see me,” Allie answers. “Or if you want to rush into things, go ask Jo, she knows all about me. In fact, the last time I talked to her, which was yesterday morning, she didn’t want me to come around and introduce myself, in which, I find that a bit rude.”

Does she want to talk about being rude now? Maybe she should look in the mirror and remember why she’d bothered turning up on your doorstep.

“Sarah, don’t you have that appointment at the doctors in ten minutes?” you ask, turning to Sarah, hoping that she’ll get your drift.

“Oh, yeah I do Viking,” Sarah answers. “We better go now if I still want that appointment.”

“Tell your mother and aunt, that I’m going to be in town for about two or so weeks,” says Allie. “Nice seeing you guys again. Well, bye then.”

You close the door, as soon as she starts turning away. You turn to Sarah, who’s staring at the ground and probably thinking the same thing you’re thinking.
