Angels and Airwaves: I-Empire (New Album)

Angel's and Airwaves sophomore album, I-Empire is coming out in stores on October 23rd. The first single is called "Everything's Magic". I expect the album to be good because their first one was fantastic. Every track was pretty good. It was probably my favorite album of '06. I just hope they put more songs on this one. "We Don't Need To Whisper" only had ten tracks. Oh, on AVA's website there is a trailer for what they call a "motin picture". It's also called I-Empire. I think it's like a documentary with other stuff.

I'm not mad at anyone, but why do think they are terrible? They're not really one of the best bands ever, and yes they do sound bad live, but what is it that is so bad about them?

Lyrically cliche and unimaganative, the hooks are flat, the album is linear in a stereotypical sense, the chord progression is boring and predictable as well as simple, the is no complexity to the music thus lacking depth, the melodies are sub-par, his vocals are stereotypically shit, they lack variety, they dont diversify in instruments, the structure is that of a manufactured band, they lack charisma, they suck live & are only as big as they are down to past glories

 

essentially they are a radio friendly band with as much depth as kids paddeling pool, filled during a hoose pipe band and are as heavy as an annorexic feather & are as creative as a dead adam sandler.

 

What is the to like? Othen then being a band for people who think they are into alternative/rock music but aren't really into rock/alternative music.

Yeah........I don't need to add anything more than what has already been said. It's not like one can't help but notice all these publications and websites ripping on this band. We all have a general disgust of A&A for many reasons that have already been discussed and written about. But again, many people like them. That's society for ya. That's business marketing for ya. That's media brainwashing for ya. That's payola for ya. That's blah blah blah, etc.

Three Days Grace, Mudvayne, Staind, Evanescence, Angels and Airwaves, and Atreyu

 

You have the standard music taste of any 14 year old into rock music, it's just teething starter rock which isn't special at all. It's just simple music thrown on the radio in an alternative presentation, give it time and you will probably out grow these bands (as they aren't designed to last or be considerd timeless) it all depends, if you continue casualy listening to music you probably will stick to similar bands but those of us that actually appriciate music can see the flaws and look for alternative sources.

 

Here is an example of timeless vs fad music:

-> Now somewhere in a box in the basement

 

Pulp - Different Class - Purchased 1996

-> Still gets played on a regular basis

I do appreciate music. I kind of am into starter rock because I have only been listening to rock for about 2 years. I'm trying to listen to everything. I'll take what you said in a good way to try and help me improve my taste, but I do appreciate music. I'm not really mad at you or anything, I just don't like you saying I don't appreciate music. Underline bold text I agree with. However, remember we have a right to express our thoughts just the same as anybody else. We're just usually on the other side of the fence and usually coming across a bit stronger and with reasons to backup our thoughts. It is a discussion board.
