Oh yeah. We servers understand that in other countries (other than US) that prices are already high and the servers get paid ALOT higher an hour. I get paid only $3.50 an hour whereas in England they get paid equivalent 11-12 USD an hour. People just do not understand that we make a living off tips sometimes.

Yeah, we may not cook you're food, but we are serving you... that's the point for a sit-down restaraunt. These people are bringing you drinks and food. It's not like it customary to tip one of the 'cooks' at McDonalds. :)

I Smile Cuz I have no idea whats going on.

My family usually does 15-20% unless the service is bad. As for myself, I dont really eat out when Im not with them, so yeah. Though if I did Id probly go 10% at least until I got a better income, since yeah, US servers live off tips.

So SB, where ya workin at?

And Azem, whys paper in plastic so hard? Put folded paper bag in plastic bag, open it and jiggle it around a bit, no biggie. :-P

i'm kinda genorous, if the waitress/waiter has been polite and good at their job i tip 20%, but if they provide bad service i usually dont give them anything.

Lol that sounds easy. But bagging is like this mathematical sequence that makes no sense what so ever. It takes longer to bag plastic or paper in plastic then straight paper. Lol trust me I don't know how to explain it but for some unknown reason it just is.

dont tip, its not something we do in AUS,cause servers here actually get paid, and any tips are...GENERALLY... placed in a BIGGG jar, and at the end of the week/month or whenever its full, it gets counted and divided out among the servers, well thats what my familly friends resturant does anyways

We normally tip, normally we just do 10% but if it's awesome service then we do like 15%ish

Oh, dear you're soo kind and generous. 10% or 15%!! Well, if every time I go out for a meal I've to pay this, believe me, I'd only have two options: after the meal, I'd have to do washing up or (the second one) just to start working in a corner for earn some extra money... well, maybe I've exaggerated a little bit. I'm poor, alright, but not too much. Obviously, when I'm going out with my friends I dont tip anything... but If I go out with my parents, my dad always tip something. I'm not as miserable as Scrooge Mcduck, but I dont like with my dad gives tip (and a quite high tip, btw) 'cos well, we've a VAT included in the meal's price. And I think with it is enough.... although, well, if the service is great, I dont mind to pay a tip (even more if the waiter look like Josh Hartnett!!:D )

I'm not joking, man....

I was at Buffalo Wild Wings with the drumline, and i seriously tipped a waitress a dollar wrapped in a napkin with my name and number on it. She couldn't have been older than i am. there's no way.

I am in your forum, posting grammatically accurate responses.
