azemkamikaze03 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 So my iPod just broke on me (lol I have never had an mp3 player last more than a year btw and this is my first iPod) and I need a new mp3 player. Now, I want to buy the new iPod Touch. I mean I have decided on that. I know there are a million reasons why not to, but for me the iPod interface is clean and it just works for me. Plus I can watch my movies on the go and lets face it touch screen and internet and the extra accessories I can buy just seal the deal. Now I am torn because the iPhone only has an 8 gig and the Touch has a 16 gig for the same price. I already have a cell phone but I plan to get rid of it in April when it's warranty expires. So I am wondering should I invest in a iPhone or Touch? I am using up about 10 gigs (including the movies) so extra cushion for the pushing is always nice in this case, but I mean I could always just make that uncomfortable compromise with just not having over 5,000 songs on my iPod which I guess is ok. But just the fact that I could paid the same amount and get a 16 gig just without the phone capabilities. I don't know lol any advice? Quote ¿whysoserious?
GraDoN Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 that shit is pretty sensitive, so go gentle on it my son lol touch IMO Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg
LPShinodaFM Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I'm not so big on either of these, but I'd say touch, cuz of the memory space and stuff. My friend has an iPhone (which I stole for like an hour to play with) and well, pretty cool for the first five minutes but then it was meh... not too much to it. lol Really sensitive things, both of them, so not too much for me. Black_Angel Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Apparently the contract for the iPhone is bloody expensive, talking like £35 a month for a set time, you can't have pay-as-you-go, though I dunno whether that's just a UK deal, since it only came out over here today. So yeah the touch seems like a better option, double the memory for the same price seems like a pretty good deal. Quote i still love you, girl from mars.
Stenners Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 The Iphone is a very gradual rip off, at first the face value sounds reasonable then your stuck with an 18month long mammoth of a contract with no perks what so ever. On top of that if you hack your phone you will no longer be allowed updates! WHICH COULD BE VITAL TO PERFORMANCE So heres a deal, get a contract which gives you a phone and a new one every year (or whenever you renew the contract) and get the Itouch, 2 items for the same price + double the memory. Victim Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I have an iPhone..I love it.. People can bitch and moan all they want, but I love it.. I pay for the bill, and I think it is worth it.. I can do updates, and I HAVE hacked into my phone. I am on the newest version and have hacked phone. The contract isn't bad.. I have 3 phones on my account, two of them are iPhones, and we have unlimited text, and tons of other features and our bill is only $160 a month.. That is not bad, considering my mom by herself for a sprint phone was 100.. If you want to eliminate having to carrying around a phone and a mp3 player, and are willing to cut down one the space go for the phone.. If you have to have the space, go for the touch.. azemkamikaze03 Posted November 10, 2007 Author Posted November 10, 2007 Yea, because I'm not starting a new contract I just want to buy the phone itself. I already am happy with my plan I pay like 60 bucks a month and thats the whole unlimited texting however many minutes and more so I mean im not worried about being ripped off month by month. but stenners is right about paying almost double. but lol when i renew my phone i want something nice cuz lol im big balling like that. so im figuring why buy a touch now if im gunna end up wanting an iphone when i renew but yea i just might end up getting the touch now and then when the time comes they might have an upgrade and ill just sell my touch for a high sized iphone Quote ¿whysoserious?
Jeezy Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Yeah go with the touch. The only thing that keeps me away from the iPhone is this damn contract thing. I think I'll get one when the prices fall again Quote
Conjure Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Definitely go with the Touch. In my opinion the iPhone is pretty ordinary.. Not a big fan of it. Far too expensive for it's capabilities. I've had a 30gig iPod video for a couple of years and it's still working fine. I wanna get an 80gig though because I have far too much music >:o Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/d3c81a744385244c788f69809943f79d.png
Peterdea Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 when it comes to me getting a new MP3 player, i just want more for less. so I'm not a fan of iPod's etc. Quote Its good to be back.
Natsuki Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I've never been bothered about having a mass of space on my MP3 (well, technically it's one of those walkman phones) so I just change my song line-up every so often, but if I were you, I'd wouldn't pick the iPhone, it's been hyped-up too much and cost too much for what it actually is... and you always end up tied into those annoying contracts you can't get out of for a year or two...
