They claim to be a religion and they

have "churches" like everywhere in the world.

 

What do you think?

Is it fair that they claim to be a religion?...

Or do they just try to get as much money from their members as possible?

 

In Germany politics are trying to ban Scientology right now.

I'am not Defending Scientology, I'am only defending what I stand for.

I don't think you should judge things that you don't know anyhting about (not just what you see, but try it to know the real thing)

some say they try to morph our brain into this and that, so we can defend it.

But I find that the ones who argues With religion, are scared inside cause there friends will judge them or they think "It's uncool"

all of this and that, mainly cause of There Vanity and Selfconscience. (though they'll attack me for there Pride, I don't blame you I use to be like that about Religion I was a Athiest before.)

You are right to a certain point, it just depends on how far people are willing to go to find the religion thats right for them, and in my opinion, spending money isn't what religion is about. maybe to some, but not to me.

Indeed. I've tried many religions before settleing on agnosticism, I never tried scientology however. The best religion I came across in my life was Buddhism, because it was the most free. I've been Christian, Protestant, Satanist, and quite a few others that slip my mind at this time (it is quite early here and I should be still sleeping haha), but experience is the best teacher when it comes to religion. However, I also agree on the 'why should we pay to believe' thing too, the one thing I never understood about religion is the money plate 'going towards the church' and going to the church months later and it is still in shambles much like it was when I started going. I'm not here to force my ideas on anyone, but in general religion has caused more turmoil than it has done good (for the most part), not every religion but a lot of them are the cause for war, bloodshed, and pillageing of several villages throughout the course of history.

iv always seen religion as a means for people to put faith in, whether religion is real or not, well who knows, when people lose faith in religion or something "higher" or "greater" then themselves, they lose faith in their very own existence,since its only a one way ticket from birth to death, in a way, religion is...i spose a big fantasy of something much greater once we die,whether it be islam,christianity...etc

Well regardless of how you or I feel about Scientology calling it complete bullshit isn't right(scientology itself that is). Mainly because, the Christian, Islamic, Hebrew, Satanic, Ect. faith all have wild and far out stories or tales in them. We mainly ride religion on faith and I don't think you should bash what someone else calls a religion because that is their decision and going against them only leads to problems. Granted, I do think the premise behind Scientology is weak and untrustworthy. When in order to move up the chain in a religion you have to pay I consider that ridiculous. In fact, the FACT that there is that notion that you have to move up in Scientology is crazy. I believe that in a religion if a new comer wants to be part of that faith, they should be able to be just as endowed in the religions' history and premise as the Priest/Pastor of the church. The newcomer shouldn't have to move up in ranks in order to gain the understanding of what they are worshiping.

 

I don't know exactly where the money is going to but I only assume it goes towards the leaders of Scientology and their cause, which isn't right. In Catholic Faith(which I am by no way saying is superior) we have to pay to get confirmed but it isn't paying so that our Pope(lol) can sit around just live comfortable we pay so that our local church can send it out to various charity funds(and fund future religious ed classes).But again the majority heads to charities. I think if the CoS is going to take money, they should be putting it right back in the hands of the people not just thoroughly for CoS itself.

 

Not only that but when you get something like a religion based off the thoughts of a Science Fiction writer, that's when I start to wonder wtf.

scientology isnt that far different from every other religion, so what if they pay to feel a sense of higher being? its the same premise as "having more money makes you of higher social status" in some regards, kind of like buying a 50k car when you only a vehicle that can take you from a to b that might only cost 10k, while it may sound stupid to some of you, it makes sense to them, every religion has its quirks-not allowed to eat pork,worshipping cows,misreading your "bible" to mean declaring holy war on every other religion etc

 

alot of the money apparently goes to building more churches and scientology-like buildings to help spread the "word", but hey,its not our money, who are we to worry? and in anycase, its these scientology "quacks" that give us our laughs, that make us feel normal,enjoy the show, dont knock it
