What Should I Buy

Ok so i've been saving money now for about a year and a half to buy a new laptop...i want a laptop thats pretty good for playing games..around here in saudi arabia thats ranges from 5500 to 7000 riyals...im looking for something around 5000 to 6000 or 6500..i currently have about 3800 or 4000 riyals saved..i was wondering if i shud keep saving and ask my parents to pay the rest of it for my bday or rather buy a Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3 with my money..i can afford to buy ne1 of those 3 rite nw

Those consoles are limited...you can do more with a laptop.

just give you an Opinion I would want my own Laptop to keep everyone off, since They could use this PC

 

since this comp was suppose to be mine....All I do is clean it run scans and blah

a PS3 would have it's ups and downs......as in Sony has a Wide Variety of games

I also hear they're making a Remake of FFVII for this console this year, read it in a magazine.

it should be out before FFXIII if your into the FF things. (Only reason I'm getin one)

 

the 360 seems to be having a strong point in live games and shooters... in my poin of view,

I think it's an alright system I prefer Sony over X-box though.

 

Wii havent heard anyhtign bout it, I never really checked it out.

but form what I hear it's pretty fun and has some fun games.

 

but I would get a Laptop a decent one with Duo core whatever =p

so I can play games, store things in it...and only let me on it

there are certain features that are way better in XP

and vista freezes, I guess that's the biggest flaw

it's just been a bit unsure about the result of it all

 

 

when I think about it though, it is way more easy to browse and find, than in XP

I have Vista 2, don´t have any problems with it

Only thing I have that sometimes internet won´t work, but I think that´s just my internet because I can´t download p2p or stuff like that

As much as I agree with you that "Vista Sucks..." I do have to disagree with it freezing and all that... It really depends on the hardware in the computer and how you configure it. Just remember Windows 7 is coming out soon hahaha

Xbox 360 runs beautifully, with free demos, and a free silver membership, giving you large access to alot of the things. Only thing with 360 at the moment live, is that it is running a bit slow with all the new joiners, but that's still not much of a problem seeing as how it's easy to set back up....

 

 

In my opinion save up for the laptop, but if that doesn't go well, get the 360

yea i think im gna save for laptop by 360 if it doesnt work out...i played the Wii a lot its really fun but the games other than Red Steel are pretty kiddish so far like mario and stuff and im nt sure if it has online gaming or not

Vista sucks because for one it is a complete rip off of Mac's OS and for christsake everytime I've tried to do something on the damn thing I get an antivirus shit popping up. And then when i do turn off the firewall I get viruses up the ass.

 

Dont get a laptop. Buy a PC. Its a better investment especially if you wanna play games. Sure it isn't mobile, but laptops are high highly overrated

Unless you get a desktop replacement laptop like I did. I can play just about any game I would be able to play on a desktop.

But yes, get a laptop/PC over a console. Much better buy. Consoles are great to kill time, but a computer is going to allow you to do so much more. and it is wise to stay away from Vista at the moment.

I have Vista. It works perfectly fine. Even for gaming.

 

Issues Ive had with Vista...

• The really old game Serious Sam: Second Encounter didnt work. Not even in XP compatibility mode. (The first SS did though.) Dont care.
  
• My really old crappy mic didnt work with CounterStrike Source anymore. (Still works on the comp though.) Dont care.
  
• The alerts were annoying... AT FIRST. Disabled the alerts, and I believe the protection is still there. Even if its not, go grab a free anitvirus package. Not that hard.
  
• Dosent communicate with one of my printers. However, this is NOT Vista's fault. Its Epson's for not releasing a good Vista driver for that printer.

Soooo, Im prefectly happy with Vista... havent had any REAL problems with it. I dont understand why people bash it so much.

I had it, but honestly I couldn't stand it. I'm not saying that it's a terrible OS, just one to avoid until more service packs come out and some of the bugs are fixed.

I do like the fact that it can connect to my X-Box... Haha

In short, I switched to XP until they get more SP and a price drop would be nice... lawl

THE ONLY true good things with Vista is the new image set up stuff and dx10, which they are being nazis about and making it exclusively on vista and not XP(so if ur a gamer ull have to pay extra, because a lot of new games are requiring DX10)

 

Desktop PC's are the way to go if your a gamer. It's common sense a laptops processor cant even compare to a Desktop's capabilities let alone the fact that even though a laptop can "upgrade" a pc can upgrade soo much more for a cheap amount and upgrades are nearly limitless while laptops have a set amount of power they can take. if anything you can add an external hard drive to your laptop, but then you're carrying around a laptop an external drive a mouse another keyboard if u dont like the laptops one. it gets to be a hassle.

 

plus even if u disregard the rest. a decent game chugging laptop will be more than a good computer. Mobility is great, but a strong healthy computer is the smartest way to go.

 

consoles are cool for exclusives and stuff, but id say get a PC first.

Yeah, Im sure it would slow down an old system... but why would you want to update and old system to Vista anyway?

 

 

Norton worked fine for me... just had to pull the vista-compatible version off their website and it worked prefectly. Thats not Vista's fault though.

The bold sentence above is incorrect my friend all I had to do was go Setting > Network > Network Type > Wireless.

 

Very easy.

 

PSN is like Live Gold but free and a little less organized.

 

I still would say Xbox Live > PSN though.

 

FFVII will never come out for PS3. Square Enix said they were not working on it and it will take 5 years to make if they ever re-make.

 

And since when has 360's exclusives been any good? Someone tell me that so I can buy a few (besides Gears Of War which still kicks ass to this day). <--Not Sarcasm

 

I need to get a laptop also. I want one with Vista. If you have a good computer that meets recommended requirements for Vista it is amazing. If you don't then Vista sucks and stay with XP until you upgrade computer up to Vista. If you don't like XP go back to 98.

 

Vista (with recommended specs) > XP > Windows 98 > All Windows besides 98 and ME > Vista (without recommended specs) > Windows ME

 

Laptop > PS3 > 360
