splitmyDNA Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 with regards to what lp have done, how about one of the highest selling bands of the century? they may have gone out on a limb with MTM and done something different, but give them a break, i mean, they're all talented musicians who deserve our backing! MTM was great, different, but great nonetheless. i personally think it's pretty special when a band does something new, when they attempt to abandon what they're tagged for; so what if some people think it didn't work, maybe for some it didn't, but for the people it did work for, LP have never been bigger. 1 Quote Linkin Park 3/05/07 @ Astoria 28/01/08 @ O2 Arena 29/06/08 @ MK Bowl PROJEKT REVOLUTION Latest item update - Meteora Special Edition (Blue cover)

Hybrid Theory was personally their highest selling point. 2) No they're not entirely. Look at the guitar notes to one step closer. There's only like 4 guitar notes being played in the whole song! Bleed it out drums, it's like Meg White off the White Stripes, there's no real complicated drumming that song, and in most songs there's a certain extent of complication Rob puts into a song, i.e. Somewhere I Belong. But where it isn't entirely, it's cos of the mixing that the do and how they arrange the songs. In the End was shit simple, but it was good. 3) I appreciate your opinion, but LP has now conformed like Silverchair has (if Daniel Johns had continued their old stuff he was the next Aussie Kurt Cobain!!) and it's now this metro punk-emo style that (as demonstrated by the Shadow of the Day filmclip) is starting to repeat their old stuff. I swear when I listen to Shadow of the Day for the first time, I swore it had the same intro to it as Over My Head by the Fray. 4) That's the one thing I have a problem with, they have never been smaller! And a lot of people like the mate above me, agrees with me. Minutes to Midnight in an album in general was like a mudslide to me. It was devastating the level that they had dropped down to. It took me weeks to get into it. And I'm kinda glad now that I downloaded it rather than bought it. Quote Mia Elizabeth 18/2/10 Kate Helena 8/7/11 My baby girls <3
Searva Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I love Minutes to Midnight. It's not as harsh as their other stuff. [but i love their other cds, too] But I do hope that they make more songs like the ones on Meteora. ... it's kind of hard to explain. Because I like it when Chester doesn't yell for an entire song. But I like it when he screams his heart out. It's just the meaning of the song that really makes me like it. Because you have to understand a lot of their songs. And maybe now the members of Linkin Park aren't going through as rough a times as they were before. So they make their music a bit softer. But I don't believe that changes how well they perform. You just have to look at it differently now. =] Quote [broken External Image]:http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g90/Minique_7/holdontight.jpg
P4R4D0x Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I heard QWERTY was going to be on MTM but they replaced it with What I've Done, can't remember where I read it. Quote
GraDoN Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 thats not true, qwerty was never gonne be on the album, warner would not let them play a song from an album 5 months before release and for every album released there will be haters, i mean even with meteora lp lost fans. i love mtm and cant wait for the new album :> Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg
P4R4D0x Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Then i was ill-informed then. And I never sensed much of a change between Meteora and Hybrid. Quote
GraDoN Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 that was one of the things that made some people dislike it is that it was basically a HT 2 and also that it was so polished, HT was very raw Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg

GraDoN Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 when MTM was released i thought that another HT would have been cooler but the more i think of it the more i realize that breaking away from nu-metal was a good step in the right direction Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg

woodyloveslinkin Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I hope they change their style of music back to ol' Hybrid Theory days, cos, this style really annoys me. People say that sometimes change is good, we'll just wait when LP hits rock bottom because of their change of attitude and music or they gain popularity back amongst people who share the same opinion and critiques as I do. Quote Mia Elizabeth 18/2/10 Kate Helena 8/7/11 My baby girls <3
Searva Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Well, what I think it is is people like Linkin Park for one specific reason, then if that reason changes, it's bye bye. But you get the real fans here and they like Linkin Park for pretty much everything they are and then they change their style and these guys think: "Cool! Something new and exciting!" ... that's what I thought. When I first listened to Minutes to Midnight, I fell in love immediately. I just loved the change. It was amazing. And they've still got some of their old spunk. You can't ignore that. Quote [broken External Image]:http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g90/Minique_7/holdontight.jpg

GraDoN Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 few bands can stay together that long without killing each other and booting some members, thing with lp is, unlike G&R and ACDC its not just 1 person that makes the band Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg
