Stenners Posted May 13, 2008 Author Posted May 13, 2008 Wassup ma' bruddaz and sistaz, I returned from ATP yesterday and after catching up on some lost sleep I' now feeling refreshed and ready to tell you guys about my adventures in what become a music holiday resort for 3 days. We arrived to a very suprisingly polished and nice challets and the only indoor place that isn't my own where I have been allowed to smoke, good start so far! The atmosphere in general can be described as excelent, the wasnt any havoc which plauges larger festivals and you got to know the neighbours really easily, I have pretty much made about 10 friends who I do intende to see again. The sound in the venues were brilliant although the upstairs venue was far too hott! So yea anyways, on Friday I only really saw 4 bands as it was sooo nice to chill out and talking to folk, Man Man were brilliant live... literally the first band I saw become one of the best live acts I have seen EVER they did this by deploying great humour, energy and a vast array of instruments. I caught around 40 red feathers which became a neccesity at the festival as i started putting them in peoples hats and jeans in order to have them 'tagged' if you will. After that I saw Vampire Weekend... well I stayed for like 3 songs, they were terrible live and have actually made me dislike their album.. well done Vampy Weekend worst live band I have seen since Angels & Airwaves at Reading 07 So after much congregating in the challet and pub me and new friends at the time John & Louise went off to see Fuck Buttons as the rest of my challet mates were getting stoned... they were pretty intense live but the lack of differation from what they were doing their and the live show didnt really make it as awe inspiring as I had hoped... though having said that the were moments which really got my heart pounding. After Fuck Buttons I went to the pub and started talking to people and then procceded to go to the downstairs venue for the 3rd to time to catch Glass Candy, with other new friend from pub Emmi they were a fantastic end band.. great dancey pop! After all that we had a party in the pirate ship in the playground with frequent visits to the downstairs club in between. Friday was brilliant fun! Saturday update soon Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Clogz Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I just got the call yesterday. I'm working at Cornerstone Festival 2008 in Bushnell, Ill., USA. It is an amazing festival, and it will be my first time being there and it will be such an experience. I'm going out with two others from the radio station I DJ at to promote the station...in simpler terms it means this: I get a press pass, and I will be spending a fair amount of time meeting bands and talking to them about our station, Remedy.fm. I am practically jumping out of my seat because so many of my favorite bands will be there and I will definitly see all of these shows... Demon Hunter, Disciple, Flyleaf, Inhale Exhale, Living Sacrifice, Skillet Some other bands I really want to see.... Impending Doom, Means, mewithoutyou, Run Kid Run, The Wedding, Anberlin, A Plea For Purging, The Almost, Haste The Day, and Kingston Falls. Quite a few bands will jump on board at the last minute so I have my fingers crossed on a few of my other favs showing up! I'm stocked! Quote And then I felt chills in my bones / The breath I saw was not my own I knew my skin that wrapped my frame / Wasn't made to play this game XXI
