Joe Hahn's directorial debut of his first independent short film, "The Seed," starring Will Yun Lee (Bionic Woman, Torque, Elektra, Die Another Day) is now available on iTunes for $1.99.

And now, it's my turn to rant.

 

I'm in the UK, using a UK store iTunes... guess what? I can't fucking buy it! Nice one, whoever's in charge (and no, don't say Warner, it's not them). What gives iTunes/Hahn/Apple/whoever the right to say "well, only US can buy this"? And surely, isn't it a fucking stupid sales tactic? They could earn more money (let's face it, it's the only reason iTunes are involved) if they sold it to other countries, other than the US.

 

Further yet, Linkin Park Street Team had the cheek to send an email asking people to promote it. Firstly, why should I promote something I can't access myself? Secondly, what will promoting do? Okay sure, I'll go tell all my friends to download it and stick fliers up everywhere, so all my friends and people around me can go on iTunes, try to download/buy it and find they can't. Sorry LPST, I can't earn you any money today.

Edit: Ok, saw it now and its well filmed... but I think that the plot is way too big a concept to squish into a 12 minute film. Its like taking The Lord of the Rings and fitting it into 20 minutes. (LOTR Spoiler here... lol) Hobbit gets ring. Hobbit goes on journey, OMG EVIL CREATURES, RUN! Hobbit destorys ring. The end. It just dosent work too well. More time is needed to expand on the plot and without it I just feel like you get 1600 questions and zero answers. So we know what the seed is kinda... everything else is "WTF IS GOING ON HERE"?

I got my straight of iTunes.. and then uploaded in .m4v or whatever in filefront.. I am not sure about LP Russia's since theirs was zipped in a .rar file.

 

I also agree about it being to short.. I could totally see, and wish it was, a full lengh movie.

Well its diff then since LPRuissia's is tagged by them in the corner... and has static all the way through from the bad sound card they used while recording it off the screen. (According to Nick.) It is watchable, but the static annoying to have to listen to through the whole thing.

 

Yours is the full deal then, but it has DRM and wont let me, or anyone for that matter, play it.

Id also like to add to my mini review that considering how polished everything in it looked, the CGI seemed like it was lacking...

Its not horrible, just not perfect. I mean you can understand everything, the background noise is just an annoyance. But they went to all the trouble to record it off-screen, add their tag in the corner, and upload it... you would think they would do it right and have everything be perfect. Apparently not. If you still want to wait, Im sure a better rip will pop up sonner or later though.

Completely off topic, i know.. But does anyone know a good DRM remover...I had one, then uninstaller it, and can't remember what it was.. and all the ones I am finding now, only allow up to like a 1 min conversion, unless I buy it.

I found one, Daniusoft Digital Media Converter.. and everyone says its teh best.. and normally I can 'get it' myself.. but no luck with this one.. Lemme know, if you have any.
