Seether VS Nirvana

Okay, so now we have two bands that sound very famaliar to each other, in their lead singers voices. I must say I think Nirvana has made more of a name for themselves then Seether is, because Seether use to be good, (think "Remedy" and "Let Me Go") but they fucked it up completely doing that awful duet with Amy Lee ("Broken" ??). Nirvana's got my vote, because of time's transcending abilities have not really affected Nirvana's image, I mean, after Cobain's death, are they going to make new albums that will totally screw up their grunge-kings image? uh...no...

i actually like broken more without amy lee. yes, i like seether but Nirvana gets my vote because well many critics say that seether try to hard to imitate them which i do agree with on a certain level. but, nirvana is much better.

Nirvana is a legacy and will always be the "John Lennon" of the 90s. Honestly, if Kurt hadn't died I don't know how much longer the band would've thrived for. I like Seether more because their music is phenomenal both live and recorded. The aren't as over-popularized as Nirvana. But don't get me wrong...Nirvana is still pretty kick ass.

well i was listening to Seether before Nirvana, but i vote Nirvana because Seether are some what trying to copy Nirvana and Sean has admitted his greatest musical influence was Nirvana, so for originality I'd say Nirvana, but i do listen to Seether more.

c) I like Nirvana, they talk about the real issues in life in which many people in that era didn't want to hear it on their radio and Smells Like Teen Spirit was and still is the anthem to my 30 yr old sister's life.

c) Real issues? That doesn't make them any special...because there are so much bands out there that sing about real life issues and a lot of bands do it way better than Nirvana. Smells Like Teen Spirit is probably the worst Nirvana song out there. I don't understand how so many people like that song....probably just because it's the most played video on MTV.

the first week it came out I grew sick of it pretty fast, I never liked it to begin with.

Now one talks about conformity and teenage depression and one talks about getting high off drugs. In all honest fact, if you hear the songs off In Utero by Nirvana, btw, Cobain had a lot of respect for women, it was about a lot of dark things, yes, i've never said anything the lines of "no..cobain wasn't suicidal" i know he was which makes "Nirvana" the name of the band a complete parody of the songs they produced as "Nirvana" is a buddhist term for a tranquil state of mind. And plus, Nirvana was the greatest grunge band, and Nevermind was the album that made the anthem album of the youths in those eras. Trust me, I have two siblings from that era. Seether's really done jack shit with it's talent and yes, it most probs will end up a graveyard name, but no one has forgotten Nirvana after all these years. Cobain's suicide isn't the legend, it's their style of music and guess what? Time's transcending abilities have not affected Nirvana one bit...well that stupid Love woman she can go to hell for exploiting Cobain's memory.

Ah, the beautiful fact about music is that it is subjective. Just because there may be or may not be a strong majority with the same opinion it doesnt validate said point!
