Government organisations like centrelink make things free, you think of why I'm still a dol bludger? Only now if eveything was free (not even health care is free in the long run that's why I haven't seen a doc today) :S

I repeat, nothing is ever free. Centrelink still makes you do something to 'earn' their money, so it's not all it's cracked up to be. As for the health care that's more dubious. Sure it's free but it's so basic it's near primative. You still have to pay excess. And even then it ties back to your having to do something for the government to earn this 'free' right

 

As for the duck, unless the speaker is shaped like a duck, again, it's just a duck. And it's an analogy, idjit. Analogy or euphamism? Anyway you get the idea. Stop distracting me, am trying to write here

 

A hint for next update? If you want to think as much I will not stop you. I probably won't ellaborate but I certainly wont stop you from making your own assumptions. You will anyway, I know you, you're as twisted as I am... but only sometimes

 

Communicate please. As my partner in crime here people are looking for you to lead by example. So simply, lead by example. Self explanitory really. PM mel if you need to. I've given her ideas how you two can work this out, but it's up to you two to do that. Have fun. All good.

Mel originally penned it as a shakedown I thing, with Hugh being their lackey and collecting it on their behalf. I don't know whether Mike's previous job as an Insurance sales man made him think the money was meant for him and Hugh was too nice/fearful of getting attacked he just gave in - or assumed Mike was part of the scam, but don't know myself. So I've used this ambiguity in my story where I think its extortion and Rob's happy it's a run-of-the-mill scam. See what happens I guess

I wouldn't put it like that... you need to set yourself up for interaction. In my real life I wouldn't leave my computer if I could at all help it, but in the story the me character has to get out a lot and just breathe. Mel's character goes to the pub (or beats up other tenants), and Sarah works...

 

If you can't get a job with another character for example maybe just meet another character out and about. Catch up in the halls or roof - as I did set the roof up as a kind of gathering hub - and the basement aside from Azem's corner, is free for something like jamming as a band.

 

There's musicians here now, why not have one go down there to get away from Hugh's complaining about noise constraints and have others wander down too... It's weak but it's a start. Once you do that you might find other oppertunities open up. Maybe a new person will come in and give you the name of a friend who books a gig at the pub Mel frequents for example... roll off each others stories, that's what they're there for (aside from good entertainment).

 

Those that are writers can be seen around the place furiously scribbling for inspiration. Cafe's where Sarah and I now work are great places always full of budding writers people-watching

 

Read what others write, and as you do think, how can I tie that into mine?

 

Mel walks onto the roof to think. You say you passed her on the stairs (as I did ) and say she grunts at you. It gives you something to work on later, as though her reception was bad then, you got the notion she doesn't like you, so you spend the day in your room doing everything you can avoiding her type scenario. It's just a loose example, but you can do that for everyone or anyone you want - or no one, if you like living alone by yourself.

 

Nailz I believe has pets. People have said that Hugh doesn't allow them but no one has made Hugh go and confront her about it Maybe her pets have strayed and you find them, maybe the barking keeps you awake at night, maybe the kitty-litter smell is putting you off your food or something?? She gave you the option by including them in her story but no one's touched them yet. I'm sure if you do something to them in your story that she doesn't agree with she will soon tell you Don't be afraid to ask her.

 

You don't have to feel pressured to put every little thing that happens to someone else in your post and I reccommend you don't, you'll get confused. You choose what to use for your story and ignore the rest, thats all.

 

And if you want a more meaningful relationship with another member may I suggest you either PM them and discuss the ideas, OR you take it in turns writing a new interraction each day. First you write what your character said and felt, and then the other person can think about that and maybe the next day expand on that idea more by chosing to meet up again... who knows where you can take it

 

If any of the above still doesn't help, I have given you two characters to bounce ideas off/interract with; Hugh and Rob.

I know most of you are wary about using Rob because he is really my character, but since I am posting last in most cases each day I can take whatever you write about him and tie it into mine. I don't have any problem with that. If you want to talk to Rob or play video games or get him in to fix your TV and you end up 5 hours later jamming in the basement, go nuts! Just remember to READ what others say incase someone else has him doing something for them at the time he's meant to be with you

 

And if you STILL have problems feel free to PM me and see if we can't brainstorm together. I want to keep this story going and if I can help anyone in any way I'll certainly do my best to try

I never want to "speak" for someone else since I don't want to...lets say have Rob say "fuck all dem bitches" when really he would say "That was pretty gay" you know?

That made me laugh just thinking of him saying it aloud haha I'd pay to see that.

 

But seriously... don't even speak for them. Just see them. Be an observer for a while. Sarah and Mike have a lot happening, and now there's innuendo she's maybe got something going with Justin I think. Spy. Give him crap about it. See what he thinks?

 

As for starting off, I don't really know where to start with your character... depends on what you want him to do or be like or be friends with etc etc... give me a day I'll see what I can come up with... just get your character out of the apartment (not move out, I meant for activity). He needs a life too, damnit :lol:

As a result of LPF's crappy downtime

There are no extensions for sunday

But there is a 6 am extension for the saturdays

that were delayed by LPF's downtime

But under the guidelines you may like to skip saturday

(we're being realistic about posting two days in one that's all)

If not yet posted.

No, 360's are great. Just you don't know how to use them. I haven't had any problems, only when I first got it this christmas, but that was because of 10's of thousands of people joining Xbox Live at one time. Maybe the PS3 hasn't had that since on christmas they had about 41 new people join

Am thinking maybe if you want to discuss game consoles etc maybe go to that thread or you know, make one. Don't wanna come off harsh but at the same time, don't want to choke this place with unrelated stuff (Just cutting it off before it gets out of hand). We do a good enough job choking this thread with nonsensical crap as it is. Sorry guys.

 

However add a story related comment or incorporate your common interest there into the story someway and it'll technically be passable. I say technicaly. If just barely

Jos, glad to help. And reads like a charm. This way NOW we don't write we saw you around in your absence and you have to read however many days posts to try and try to make sense of being in so many places at once. Now you just come back and pick up where you left off. Awesome! And I have to say, maybe it's just my flair for the melodramatic (only in prose, don't care for it in real life) but this haunting past of Jos's in the story really captured my attentions! You have me intrigued... can't wait for that to develop. Have fun 'touring' (good luck with real life exam)

I thought I'd put a lil melodramtic into my story so its not all that "omg everything is so nice and sweet and just like W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L-L

but imo real life ain't like that too so I didnt want my story to be like that
