Sygy Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 btw McCain was criticizing Obama on having no experience but she picked Palin as VP who has as much experience as me which is 0 lool....also i dunno if anyone heard on fox news where that one reporter was like "she DOES HAVE foreign policy experience coz shes rite up there in Alaska next to Russia" if thats how it goes i dunno the mayor of San Diego must have great foreign policy experience...hey Key West is really close to Cuba the mayor of Key West must know a lot about Cuban government...Fox is a mess I know, what a joke. Fox is crap, i only watched it once in the states just so i could say that ive seen it so that i can be justified in my whinging about it! I really dont like Sarah Palin. They did a great Politcartoon about her in the Times (yack) today. It showed McCain holding a bleeding arm whilst Palin held a gun and smiled. He states something a long the lines of her shooting a whole in the campaign which is completely true. I was reading the Independent yesterday and they had interviewed people from the states about her. This one woman who was a stanch Republican and shes stated that if McCain elected her due to gender politics then its failed because the women who were supported hiliary due to those gender politics arnt going to be sway by Palin because shes just too right wing where as those hiliary supporters are more likely to lean to the left. v interesting. Ive been following this election so closely. Quote iam mors sola fuga est [broken External Image]:http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9977/n76430001741552817731hb2.jpg

Lawl. Do some more reading on Palin, please. Oh, and btw, no one said you had to have years and years of political experience in Washington to lead our country. In fact, I find years and years of sitting with those muckheads a negative quality. Many great presidents, like Ronald Reagen, were accused of 'not having enough REAL experience'. woodyloveslinkin Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 This is what my friend said about the election which kinda amused me and yes I have to share it: "If you like white chocolate > vote McCain If you like dark chocolate > vote Obama I like dark chocolate better so I'm voting Obama." ugur90 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I think at the end of the day when a decision needs to be made i think obama will make the decision that is best for the nation or the people while mccain will stick to policies that go with republican ideals instead of logic Quote
washedmemories Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Look where Republican Bush has gotten us. whoo hoo! so exciting. ALSO didn't McCain and Bush have similar ideals at one place or another? And now of course they are different. And so friggen what if he was a POW? Should we proclaim him dictator of the world? I don't trust Republicans. I probably only have ever liked ONE republican and that is Lincoln, but wasn't to be trusted at the same time. Obama for me (but it friggen sucks. I can't vote since I turn 18 November 27th =() Quote

ugur90 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 for people really interested in the election i recommend you follow TheYoungTurks on youtube they're liberal and support Obama but their arguements are so good that they would convince anyone with a logical mind here's few of their clips Quote
tornadoxalley Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Politics is something that I'm not huge fan talking about because of the heated debates that come with them. ugur90 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 the reason I support Democrats is Obama makes decisions and supports things in ways it should be like gay people should be allowed marriage coz they're people just like any one of us. I think McCain believes in most of that stuff too but because he has to appeal to crazy conservative people he doesnt believe with about 40% of the things he says. One interview he had was with a women who gave her a really good arguemnt on why gay marriages should be allowed, i think its that blond version of opera that woman called Ellice, and with things like abortion, and tax cuts to middle class, McCain doesnt wanna do the right thing because his campaign strategy is to appeal to conservatives Quote

ATLien Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I will agree, both candidates are not great, but McCain is the lesser of the 2 evils. Also, Biden he is horrible. I still can't believe Obama picked Biden as his VP. Quote Atlanta Web Design http://www.ATLChris.com
ugur90 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 if McCain wins the world will become a dangerous place because with McCain doesnt jst come him and Palin but the entire Republican party who ran the last 8 years..u think its jst gonna be McCain and palin making decisions NO..theyre gonna have advisors, cabinet members, lobbyists...all who forced Bush to making the decisions he made in the last 8 years(coz bush is too stupid to make his own decision) such as wars for no cause, 1 of the worst economic situations in american history like the stock crash 2day, torture, and decrease in quality of life...America needs change and they need Obama Quote

They belong to the same party, but they are not the same person. McCain is going to do things his way. He is going to change things. Do you really think he is campaigning around saying elect me, I am not going to change or fix things? That is just stupid to assume that! Oh and to call it a dangerous place, REALLY? That is the most ridicules thing I have heard in this whole thread. Second, why Obama? why not any of the independents? If you are going to bash McCain, why not at least provide a reasoning for believing in Obama and not the other people in the race. This is a perfect example of why Obama has a chance at winning. All they know is that McCain is a republican and that is "BAD" thing, they say hey that Obama guy is different, so he must be the "GOOD" guy, but don't even know what they are voting for. DevilDog420 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Obama. I am dying to join the US Marine Corps and Mccain wants us to live in fear about Iran saying its the gravest threat we've ever faced, I say were America! Why the hell should we be afraid of some country that just spouts off at the mouth like some angst teen, I mean did we not go through a stand off with Russia where we were looking down the barrels of each others ICBM's? I want to go and catch Bin Laden and bayonet the people who actually attacked us not every Arab country that is getting slightly more powerful. Obama, Because I watch my family suffer because of a shite economy that 8 years of corruption and war has caused. Obama Because when I do go into the Military I would like some benefits and John Mccain says a new G.I. Bill that would send me to the best collage my state would have to offer and paying for my schooling to WAAAY to generous. I could rant all night but why bother. I'm voting Obama. Quote
ugur90 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 yea recent interview McCain didnt know who prime minister of spain was and mixed him up with prime minister of mexico repeatledly and the republicans too ashamed to admit that he didnt know came out and said that mccain knew what he was saying and that he wont meet with Spain's PM..wht the hell..hes a retard Obama 08 Quote

existential_james Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I'm personally going to be voting for Obama. The biggest thing is that he's clearly different than the Bush administration, and McCain won't be. Of course there's always the fact that Obama doesn't have any experience, but then again, Obama won't get any experience if he doesn't ever get elected for anything. He can't make anything worse than it already is. Also, I'm sure that under the Bush / Republican administration (I'm not trying to point any fingers here) there's a lot of under-the-table stuff going on which is leading very quickly into the US becoming a military police state (I think Bush just signed some Act that allows for there to be Armed Troops stationed on US soil away from Military Bases... there could be an armed soldier on every street corner in the next 5 years if McCain continues this...) Plus, with McCain's health troubles, I really don't want to have him in a position where he will die in office. Especially with Sarah Palin on deck. She may be a nice person and all, but she has been in Alaska way too long to have any comprehension of our true international concerns. I'm pretty sure that the extent of her international knowledge is "Well, a Russian plane flew over Alaska once." And yes, the Electoral College needs to go. The electoral college bases it's decisions of states based on the amount of counties that go either way, which isn't dependant on the population. A friend of mine lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and he says that in those 6 or 7 counties in / around Atlanta is roughtly 75% of the state population, and those 6 counties almost always vote Democrat. But the state goes Republican because everywhere else, the other 20-30 counties vote Republican. The Electoral College is not, by any stretch of the imagination, an accurate or fair representation of the voting process. Your vote really, truly doesn't count if you think about it... But, I'm voting for Obama. ...but I wish Ron Paul was still hanging around....
