LPHybridSnax Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Just wanting an opinion of random people I guess. I've been working at this grocery store as a cart pusher since December. So I've pushed carts in the freezing cold and the blaring heat. I was supposed to be moved to cashier in MARCH. They didn't promote me, so I ask... response "Oh... we don't have anything open right now... We'll let you know when we do.." I respond with "Alright, it's just my doctor said I need to quit if I can't do anything inside because my knees can't handle this kind of job." I was born with my knees out of alignment, some people notice when I walk, most don't. Basically (and I've explained this to management) the cartridge under, around, pretty much within a 5 mile radius of my knee caps are deteriorating. With daily activity doctors estimated I have until 40 before I'll need a wheel chair or surgery. So a couple of months go by... "Hey.. is there anything I can do inside yet?" this is one thing that pissed me off... manager responds "Oh, General Merchandise just filled up like three days ago.".... Okay... why the fuck wasn't I informed there were openings when you know I can't be doing this shit? I let it go. I was told last week by a friend who is younger than me, but works in General Merchandise because he's been there a few years that four people in GM were quiting... so once more I talk to the manager. The bitch doesn't even let me finish my sentence. In the middle of asking she shakes her head, says no, then tells me starting July 1st you have to be 19 to work inside the store (I'm 17). I'm normally very professional because I need to be employed. Second time in my work experience I almost told a superior to (pretty much) fuck themselves and go to hell. Is that not a complete slap in the face? I've been here 8 months, been doing this job 5 months longer than I'm supposed to, getting paid $6.70 an hour, notoriously the only one that DOES my job, they always stick me with the shit shifts (opening weekends and closing weekdays, you have to clean up what the last shift left) and I'm just over the line for being considered legally handicapped. Then they decide to pass me up for promotion on more than one opportunity. Is it just me... or do I have the right to be reallllly pissed off? I'm applying at a few places tomorrow. HaziLPTonz Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 why do u work as a trolley pusher tbh its not the most glamorous job out there, and i wouldnt think the pay is any good... and yes, you have the absolute right to be pissed off, short of shortchanging yourself, they seem like pricks, if this was anything worth fighting for, court action for general discrimination perhaps? i mean the age thing is just stupid go work somewhere else, 6.70 an hour aint worth ur knees, and at ur age itd prolly be best to be pushing ur pen to paper to get into a good uni/college, then when ur making the dough, u ca give it to em big time when u shop there Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/ddd296f8f90eca79dbafae096b6d28b3.jpg

LPHybridSnax Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 ^^ same idea with the factory, playing the waiting game. hazi - Jobs are really hard to come by where I live. I applied over 20 places and the place I work now is the only company that even called back. I'm not going to "college", but I am going to some sort of school to study audio and music. Right now I need a job for my car insurance, gas, my friends, relationships, and I just got back together with my old band. Something I never thought would happen. Not only am I back with them, but I'm pretty much running the show this time, as before I just sat quietly in the shadows. But I need money to fund that as well. Some people can live without those things, but they're my therapy. Quote That's sexual harassment, officer! (5/8/09)

You should quit ASAP because of your medical problems. I have knee problems as well and you do not want to aggravate that, bro. Stick it to the man - Quit without notice, right before your shift. If someone you apply for asks why you did, tell them everything you just told us. Trust me, they will understand. I did this with Taco Bell when they told me they would fire me. I found out I was accepted to my college four days before I was supposed to be there to move in. They told me if I left they would fire me for not serving a two weeks notice, even though I had notified them well in advance that, soon, I would be leaving. I walked in seven minutes before a 9 hour closing shift with my uniforms in a bag, told my GM I was quitting. The best part? There were only two closers scheduled for that night. My GM had to stay and work my shift. I have not had problems with any of my employers since then about the matter either. So yea, my suggestion is to stick it to the man. LPHybridSnax Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 i need this job until i find a new one though, that's the biggest problem. one of my best friends just got a job there, so at least now it'll be a little more entertaining. Quote That's sexual harassment, officer! (5/8/09)
Yotie1019l Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Qiantang, a woman Su Xiaoxiao Bump! thx ! Downstairs, the doctor left three different medicines in different colored capsules with instructions for giving them dvd copy. One was to bring down the fever, another a purgative, dvd copy, the third to overcome an acid condition. The germs of influenza can only exist in an acid condition dvd ripper, he explained dvd burner. He seemed to know all about influenza and said there was nothing to worry about if the fever did not go above one hundred and four degrees dvd copy. This was a light epidemic of flu and there was no danger if you avoided pneumonia . Quote
