allieking Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Ok guys, i have just gave my kids this lecture so i thought i'd do the same here.. Swine Flu is now spreading world wide, it is now in many countries. although it has not killed anyone outside of mexico it is a very dangerous and easily spread virus. There are things you can do to cut the risk of infection, they are as follows.... wash your hands regularly, espically when you have been in place like shops, public transport and restaurants etc.... Carry anti bacterial hand lotion and apply when you touch things like door handles in public places and anywhere in crowded places. if you experiance any flu like symptoms such as aches and pains over the body, sneezing, coughs, sore throat and high fever call your doctor to ask for help. Stay indoors to reduce the risk of spreading the infection. Really its all about personal hygine. As i have experianced today in work some people know nothing about hygine because a woman sneezed into her hand then passed me her money with the same hand.......yuck!!! how disgusting!!! lecture over lol you can always rely on me to tell you all what to do xxxx Quote [broken External Image]:http://www.inoshishi.co.uk/allie/aa.png

allieking Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 I have been watching the news and it seems the strain that is spreading across the world is less severe than the one in mexico. The 9 people infected here in the UK have been treated with tamiflu anti-viral drus and are recovering well. The only reason its worrying me is because my daughter and sister both suffer from asthma wich means they could be seriously ill if they caught swine flu. The news says its worse for people with low immunity ie: people with HIV/AIDS and people having chemtherapy as their resistance is lower, also elderley people and children. KillMeImIrish Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 the whole hype about swine flu is ridiculous. there are thousands of other illnesses and diseases out there that are killing people at a faster rate than JUST IN MEXICO. the "regular" flu is killing thousands of people worldwide each month. Pneumonia is doing the same. in 2007, AIDS killed 77,000 people in Uganda, Africa alone. one country. i can't imagine that number now. i could continue, but i think you get my point. let's not be stupid, kids. "washing your hands regularly throughout the day" isn't just coming about because of the swine flu. use common health sense and you'll survive until you wreck your car or something. speedthief Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 In Singapore,we take this seriously.Currently the level is in yellow, even though the highest is orange, when all schools must conduct 2 temperature taking exercises.
