dshogan1 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I was recently reading about how Mayor Ray Nagin wont let Six Flags back out of their 75 year lease on the New Orleans park. I see both sides of this issue. On six flags side, the property is worthless to them, alot of the property is destroyed, the area is not economically stable enough to bring the business to the park. Its got to be hard to find somebody to insure it, as it will probably flood again. But on the other hand, they want to keep the park because they beleive it will bring back the economy and tourism. What do you guys think? eddo Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Ray Nagin is an idiot, and New Orleans will be better off the sooner he is out of office... and Six Flags as a franchise is hurting as it is. If I loose Magic Mountain because of Ray Nagin's dream of rebuilding an under-sea level town, I will be mighty pissed. Quote I'm trusted by more women.
ToriAllen Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I bet the water rides are the shiznit. When doing business you are supposed to research all possible problems that could arise. Because Six Flags knew the risks when entering into the contract, they will probably be held to it. Unless, they use the argument that the city failed to do regular maintenance on the levy and the extent of the risk wasn't foreseeable.
