hoser Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I was excited about the seat latch because I did it all by myself lol. That thing took me like an hour to figure out. Ha! I was wondering what was so special about the latch. Build is coming along nicely. Where all are you using the Ti bolts? Quote
TP Racing Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Pretty much every bolt on the quad is TI. All shock mounting bolts, a arms have TI bolts for mounting, Motor mounts are held on with TI and all motor mounting bolts are TI. Plastic is all held on with TI, Grab bar also, front bumper, radiator, voltage regulator, air box, gas tank, swing arm linkage About everything is being held on with TI bolts As time goes on I will have all exterior bolts on the motor TI as well Quote http://450rhq.com/data/MetaMirrorCache/21fc0f0e32f71137992534b10cc306cc.jpg
hoser Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Awesome! Sounds pretty sweet. Did you weigh the bolts removed with the bolts you put in to see the weight difference? How far is she from starting and getting the first ride? Quote
bigcountrydude Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 i really don't see the advantage of Ti vs Al bolts. are they really worth the money in an MX build? it is turning out to be a sick build btw. Quote Stock Bore, Stock Stroke, Pump Gas, and Kicking Ass TEAM JUNK RACING #224
450Riot Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 If he can afford it why not? I can see using TI bolts for the regulator and things like that is almost pointless but if he's looking to drop every ounce of weight then he's doin it right. I've done things like that before too and everyone tells you you're stupid for doing it haha. To each their own. I personally love the TI bolt look and function. TP Racing Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 I really wanted to weigh them all. However I did not have all bolts on hand. I think there will be a few pounds loss for sure. I really think they look sick to! there also stronger than aluminum. < I see that as an advantage I guess. Thanks for the compliments guys!! I really appreciate it. Should be running next week!
