Well, I've test driven new 2012 Ford & new 2012 Chevy. I think we'll be going with Ford. The Ford though not quite as comfortable in road smoothness without a load on it, it is more powerful, more towing capacity & better ergonomically designed, and is noticeably more up to date technology in all systems and controls. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and opinions. Nothing like a Ford vs Chevy or a Honda vs Yamaha discussion to get things heated up :-)

Glad you were able to test drive them and make a decision! Hope you enjoy your new truck!

Just remember, even though the Ford has more power on paper, the Chevy out-pulls and out-accelerates the Ford both empty and towing, and it has better brakes. They just pitted the 3/4 ton Chevy, Ford, and Dodge against each other in the latest Car and Driver magazine and again, the Chevy came out on top. It makes ne difference to me which truck you get, but just want to make sure you are informed before you lay your money down.

Thanks, I'll check out the C&D comparison. I have a few days until I have to purchase a truck so I've got time to keep comparing.

Unfortunately, I don't think such a lifted truck is exactly what we are looking for for countrywide travel. But I bet you have a blast in that thing, man that looks awesome!!!
