Got a quick question about db testing. There is a place called Fingers Lake State Park that I want to go to but there web page says its has a 86db limit.

Where can I go to have my quads checked out to see how loud they are. Has anybody in MO been there is it even worth it to go, and do they check sound levels on site?

I bet you could go to the local DNR, or police station and kindly ask them to run a test on it. Just let them know you're a law abiding citizen looking to make sure you are with-in the legal limits of the park you are wanting to ride at.

If that doesn't work, RIDE it up there and do a burn out. When they come out to give you a ticket they will run a test, because it'll be loud and although it's going to probably be another ticket you will then know where it's at sound level wise. Once in court for the tickets be sure to let the judge know it was the only reasonable way to have a DB test done, since they wouldn't do it the first time you trailered it up there!

i have never had db testing done there and i go there alot. i dont think they really care. there is one park ranger that patrols there on weekends and hes the hero type and ive never seen him do a db test. he will ticket you for doing donuts and wheelies in the staging area and even kick you out for the day. two summers ago i was there almost every weekend but my riding group is getting smaller and i probably went less than 10 times last year.

the riding there is great and well worth your drive. lots of steep hills, hard pack clay hills and tons of trails. just make sure that its mostly dry when you go cause theres lots of ruts. alot of 4x4s play there and there is some deep mud holes you'll want to stay out of. if you go when its wet then you'll want someone that knows the trails to keep you from getting stuck and frustrated. when you plan on going man just give me a shout and i can usually make it if you give me a week in advance. i know the place real well.

a stock bike is louder than 86 db, isn't it?

Thats what i was thinking. I think my raptor is closer to 96-98 with stock pipe and ive got a full fmf system that im sure needs repacked.
