bvet4dog Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Hey every one. I dont see any threads about brakes or coolant fluids on the forum. So i decided to make new one. My brakes are due for change. what do you guys use for front and rear pads? Also what brake fluids do you use? In case any one is wondering, my bike is stock. I'd like to know of any hot deals for brake pads, brake fluids and radiator/coolant fluids. thanks Quote 07 trx450r http://450rhq.com/data/MetaMirrorCache/cd3b5c0a9ec786930d0a92290fd034b5.jpg
OTMTRX Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I just buy a know brand / mid price pad (can't remember the brand now sorry) As long as you use DOT3 fluid I don't think it matters much. Braided lines to replace the stock rubber ones is my best brake upgrade... you do notice the difference. Quote
airmobile101 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Buy these.......... http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/53/360/764/-/24487/Neutron-Brake-Pad-Sintered-Metal/BRAKE+PADS Quote http://www.offtopic.forum/data/MetaMirrorCache/fd3b0f2c0d7ce24057c01e9a7e667bc6.jpg HUNG RACING, MSR RACING, RATH RACING, HOUSER RACING, JT SPROCKETS, HIPER TECHNOLOGY, HINSON RACING, STIFF BRAND CLOTHING,and CYCRA RACING.
450Riot Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Yep. EBC Sintered pads. Streamline Wave Rotors, and Streamline/Galfer braided lines is where it's at. I don't care who's brake fluid I use as long as it's DOT3 or higher. Belray happened to be what I picked up last time. I never use open brake fluid containers. I use what I need and throw it away. So I usually end up buying really small containers. Little off topic but Streamline also has a Hydraulic Clutch kit out now with an ASV lever. You can also get them cheaper with an ARC lever. For some reason this thread reminded me of that. Quote 2004 Honda Trx450Riot Kicker Dasa K&N Motul Kenda Pro Taper Motion Pro Streamline Blingstar

ridingred Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 i don't run anything but EBC anymore, i got scared after running the cheap ebay pads and then finding the rear totally worn out after 1 day of riding, lol. The EBC's last a long time and take a lot of abuse, i cover my rear brake pretty hard so it gets abused. airmobile do those pads hold up? it's a good price if they aren't garbage. littlelukeyyy Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I two have nothing bad at all to say about abc brakes. I mean the 30 bucks for how long they last is worth its weight in gold. Do it right the first time so you dont have to dick around every 2 rides Quote 06 450r Parts- High Performance Lug Nuts...

They are decent, trust me! I have never ran EBC, so I can't comment on them. I would say the Neutron pads are similar to OEM without the price tag. Now, I used to run DP pads. Those feel the same to me as the Neutron/ OEM pads. Stay away from TUSK! 450Riot Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 New pad guides. Anti squeal brake pad silicone and antisieze the pins. Bleed the brakes twice as much as you think you have to. Quote 2004 Honda Trx450Riot Kicker Dasa K&N Motul Kenda Pro Taper Motion Pro Streamline Blingstar
airmobile101 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 What 450Riot stated, I would make sure you sand down those pins with some 180 grit or whatever you can use to clean those pins up. 450Riot Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Good call. Also I forgot to mention you might need a piston rebuild kit. Consists of new pistons and the seals. Quote 2004 Honda Trx450Riot Kicker Dasa K&N Motul Kenda Pro Taper Motion Pro Streamline Blingstar
bvet4dog Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 Didnt know this thread was still going. Might be usefull other fellow riders. I did not need new rebuild kit. Just cleaned it all out real good and use anti seze lube. Next time i will buy a new rebuild kit when i get different rotors n brakes. Thanks for all of your help!
