Bak075 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I dont race, and really dont have the money to put into a +1-2 LT setup or longer axle...but would like extra stability. what are your opinions on wheel spacers? also what does the extra 2-3in. do to the geometry of the suspension up front? bigcountrydude Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 i'm no expert but the stock shocks are stiff as hell from the factory so spacers will soften them up a little which is good. on the back its fine as long as you don't jump AT ALL. the stock axle bends easy without the extra leverage of spacers... 1 Quote Stock Bore, Stock Stroke, Pump Gas, and Kicking Ass TEAM JUNK RACING #224
Dman450r Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I ran spacers for a while when I got back into quads. As an inexpensive alternative they work pretty well. The bump steer up front is by far the worst part. You can get an inexpensive stabilizer to help out a bit there. I've moved on to better suspension all around but I won't knock someone taking that route if that's all they can afford. I rode pretty hard on my wheels spacers and never had an issue with bending or breaking. Good luck. 1 Quote 07 ER X-Rex's Motowoz LT front shocks Alba racing MGC LT +2 a-arms ARS FX long travel swingarm and linkage ARS FX swingarm skid G-force axle AC Skid Custom Axis DR/DA LT rear shock HRC header/ Motoworks SR4 slip-on Burgard +2 stem Precision Shock n vibes CCP steering stabilizer Tusk bars and risers Alba Elite nerfs Tusk Hand Guards Maier hood Tag bumper Duncan Racing Graphics UNI Filter ODI rogue grips "Never steal. ridingred Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 spacers are fine as long as you don't plan to race MX or SX with them. DPCones Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I have had them on the front of mine since 07, never had any issues with them what so ever. Helps a lot with stability. Unless your really hard on them they will last a long time. Quote http://450rhq.com/data/MetaMirrorCache/508e07386c71becab2bf881014f51ad6.jpg
