Scandall519 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Seems as if that forum has been over run with spam. Any way we could get the source code from that page and put it on our site? Scandall519 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Question-- When powder coating the frame, what do you guys do to keep the VIN readable? Quote [broken External Image]:https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/535191_10150850695242658_578822657_11641888_937094153_n.jpg
OTMTRX Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I'm going to just put tape over mine this summer.. that's what most do who want to keep it.. it's the media blasting that fades it too.. Quote
Guest TT450 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 PLASTIDIP FTW! you guys don't know shit about plastidip if you think it will hold up on wheels. why somebody would even attempt to paint their wheels with it is beyond me. it OTMTRX you came off like a douche in this thread, you must know somebody cuz you were in the wrong trying to be a badass. Quote
OTMTRX Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Ummm.. that was my point.. not suitable for high wear area's like wheels... Read the thread.. I explain why I was like I was with that guy... it was a culmination of stuff... Quote
Guest TT450 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I used that Plasticoat on my rear hubs, only got two trips on them to the dunes so hard to say how it holds up. I do like the fact it's "rubbery" which means in certain places on the bike, it's less likely to chip than paint or PC. Don't think it would hold up to constant rubbing like on the frame though. I have my dirt nerfs PC's and have risen in some pretty rocky / stoney places and they are holding up surprisingly well. hubs aren't gonna hold up much better. less likely to chip, but the shit tears right off, i think it's been explained already in this thread. the frame would be fine, but the wheels and hubs and any moving parts would not hold up. That stuff is no good unless you don't plan on it making contact with the elements. your application was no better than the guy who put them on his rims. just look hat how well they held up. plastidip is not a good product for parts that come into contact with the elemtns. the bed liner or the under coat would probably hold up much better. Guest TT450 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 no i'm just trying to save the next guy from using a product that doesn't hold up. it has nothing to do with you....except that you are claiming it works on hubs and i'm telling you it's garbage sure if you ride a few times a year, this stuff will hold up, but if you're a real rider and you ride ever weekend like us men do....it won't hold up. OTMTRX Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Read the first sentence in the quote you put in post 57... Restraint a little more than you could bear Ryan..? Quote
Guest TT450 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 who? i'm making a point, don't be a douchebag about it. i'm simply making my point.....you say it won't chip, it does worse than chip, it snags and rips! Quote
OTMTRX Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Now read the second sentence of the quote you put in post 57.... Quote

airmobile101 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 So why wouldn't it work on hubs ???? Shit, I ran spray painted hubs for a few years with just a few scratches. And thats after 30+ XC races. If the shit is stronger than paint, I don't see why not.:gr_confused: Quote http://www.offtopic.forum/data/MetaMirrorCache/fd3b0f2c0d7ce24057c01e9a7e667bc6.jpg HUNG RACING, MSR RACING, RATH RACING, HOUSER RACING, JT SPROCKETS, HIPER TECHNOLOGY, HINSON RACING, STIFF BRAND CLOTHING,and CYCRA RACING.
Guest TT450 Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 waaah waaah waahh....use the shit then come back and report.....i love it when people post their experience when they literally have NO real world experience. one guy has ridden 2 rides in the dunes and he's claiming it holds up. the other guy rode a whole bunch of trails and you can see what happened.
