OTMTRX Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I got the moose... I like the twist part (I kinda modded it to take up the slack in internal cable and it made it a little quicker turning too).. not sure on the thumb bit though..I can't get the lever to sit where I want it.. nice little unit though.. Terry Cable is the only other brand I know off... if that helps Quote
Zibilich Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I was looking into this when i had the dirtbike.... But the dirtbikes gone now.. =] Quote
Burke Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I have the Terry Cable Dual Gasser on my Banshee and I have the same issue as Stewart... the Thumb lever just sits so far back that you almost have to take your hand off the grip to reach it. I don't use it very often and when I do it is only for a few seconds to get through some really nasty terrain, so it doesn't bother me too terrible much. Zibilich Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Glad i didnt spend the money on it then! I just dont think i could get used to a twisty that easily. Quote

I'm going to keep trying with mine.. going to pull lever and redrill the pin for a different position... that are good units..kinda trick but the lever is so far off from where it should be, I don't get why they didn't put it roughly stock position...? TRXFLYER Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I have the Moose DG & it is well built. The thumb lever is in a different location as far as initial spot but its because it has a different leverage than stock. I like it and the feel of the thumb throttle. As for the twist portion, it's easy to take the slack out and a lot of guys do, but riding desert I kind of like the slight slack & don't want a quicker turn (its already 1/4 turn). Having that twist is a great option to have when you're riding for hours and you start getting thumb cramp. Quote
450Riot Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 That's exactly why I want one. So far only one good review on the thumb throttle position is startin to make me wonder though.. Quote 2004 Honda Trx450Riot Kicker Dasa K&N Motul Kenda Pro Taper Motion Pro Streamline Blingstar

Guest Deven Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I have one for sale, seemed to fit my smallish hand no problem. Maybe they fixed it Quote
