ridingred Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Aight guys so I've picked up a durablue axle for the 450. First of all i want to say these things are way overpriced brand new. I got it a good deal on this one used, but i would never pay the new price, I think you're better off getting a new g-force. THe axle i got does not use splines it has the pins that go into the axle with the hub and it has 2 settings. one is +2 the other is +4 if i'm not mistaken. Anyway, the right side keeps snapping the pin. Has anybody else had this happen? I'm wondering if i'm not doing something right when i install the pins, but the left side has not broke yet and the right side has broke twice on me. This is only with a few hours of ride time. Thanks in advance. Quote 05, 13:1 JE, 02 crf cam, full hmf, razr tt tires, rath sway bar, lowering link in the rear, triple rate rebuilds on front.
TP Racing Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 sell it and get a lsr. Lifetime warranty. Theyll replace as many as you can brake if you can even brake one. And there way cheaper and worth every penny. 1 Quote http://450rhq.com/data/MetaMirrorCache/21fc0f0e32f71137992534b10cc306cc.jpg
bvet4dog Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Already got a G force axle. It seems pretty solid. I havnt put the rear end together. Sorry to hear about your pins keep breaking. I'd do what TP racing says or get g force lol Quote 07 trx450r http://450rhq.com/data/MetaMirrorCache/cd3b5c0a9ec786930d0a92290fd034b5.jpg
ridingred Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Just wanted to follow up on this axle. I ended up getting it to work but followed the advice of TP racing and got rid of it. apparently this is a common issue with the hubs boring out and causing too much play and then snapping the bolts. I got a new hub and it worked fine for a couple rides, but i still sold the piece of junk. ridingred Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 axle is fine now that i replaced the hub. that doesn't mean it won't do the same thing sometime down the road, i advised the buyer that i had replaced the hub, he was aware of this common problem so please don't attempt to bring down my selling. you live for drama eh bailey?
