RR's Flat track and TT build

Recommended Posts

Well, I did decent last weekend out so decided to move forward and make the Honda a full blown TT quad. It started as a trail machine, and has progressed into flat track.

Here's what it was early last year http://www.offtopic.forum/uploads/imported/2012/05/20120304_133255_7101-1.jpg

I've added +2 Ishock ST a arms, a rear lowering link and removed the rear swingarm. Currently running spacers on the rear that total 3 in. wider.

Motor has 13:1 piston that was put in this summer, with a 02 CRF cam. Front Suspension is triple rate rebuilds, they're in need of some work so i can get them to my liking. Rath sway bar is on the way and will be put on tomorrow afternoon when i get off work.

Here's what it looks like now.

I will post pictures of the final setup once I get the sway bar on. I've attended all of the district AMA races so far this year, 3 were rained out, so it's been 2 weeks since I've raced. I'll be back out later this month for 2 more races, can't wait to test out the new sway bar!

Sway bar is in and ready to put on! These bad boys cost around $400, I was lucky to find an org member who sold it to me for $140. If you're not familiar with how they work, the long metal torsion bar with the hex on the ends actually flexes. It is made of the same steel that a shock spring is made of. The torsion bar goes inside the black tube and then bolds up to the frame/a arm mount and then the a arm. I've seen these torsion bars flex before and it's crazy how they'll turn almost 360 degrees.

can't wait to race this weekend and try out the new sway bar. I don't think any other member on this forum is familiar with sway bars are they? Any insight on what you guys run as far as settings?
