phreakwars Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 I personally think if they joined up, there would be civil war in Iraq, but honestly, I think that is what Iraq really needs... Just sit back and let em duke it out... or better yet, fight WITH THEM... It seems to me the Sunni's are the main problem ?? So what should Iraq do about them ?? . . fullauto Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Not really an issue.... Iran is mainly persian and they REALLY hate arabs... and if the two did become friends, it would only be under the auspices that Iran would revolt and become more western AGAIN (it's been in the works for years) and Iraq would do the same (It's already begun)... Two westernized nations in the middle east might start a chain reaction, but I don't think they would ever become ALLIES... Thier hatred goes way too deep... That would be like the US and Cuba being allies... even if it did happen, it would be superficial... Quote Liberals... Saving the world one semester at a time "I'm not a racist... I'm a realist! Outlaw2747 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 My questions is back in the second Gulf War, why was Iran getting involved? Was it to attack us or to attack Iraq if what you guys say is true? RoyalOrleans Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 That would be like the US and Cuba being allies... even if it did happen, it would be superficial... I vehemently concur, fullauto. Good response. Though we may stay on good terms with the country, the alliance would be completely one-sided because of the pride of Castro. I f the Mid-Eastern powers were to align their forces, we might see peace for a while. However extremists and old nationalists would soon become all too common and would vie for power and land with the Alliance. They were more worried about Us turning that war into a two-for-one sale at allah mart and just invading them too.... They know that 85% of the Iranians would love to see that government go the way of the dodo, and thier asses were puckering because now we are THERE! What would stop us? Well apparently they figured them haveing nukes would... They were right... Quote Liberals... Saving the world one semester at a time "I'm not a racist... I'm a realist! Iran and Iraq being friends?...the Iranians will only back the shiah iraqi's and if need be the kurds as a proxy force...unless turkey wants a piece of them hahaha...If it comes to an all out civil war...America should retreat to kuwait and extend their northern border to include the souther iraqi oil fields.Kuwait will love this idea hahaha and they have a debt to owe the u.s for liberating them from Saddam when the rest of the arab world deserted them hahahaha..these kuwaiti sunni's you can trust.America does better militarily when there is a frontline. Mr X Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 oh btw yasser arafat gave full support to saddam(he was responding to public support from his people) while he was in kuwait..this basically gave the green light to palestinians living in kuwait to support the occupation..to which they went with Iraqi soldiers plundering and torturing/killing the kuwaiti's..when the the tables were turned...the palestinians found themselves on the recieving end of pissed off kuwaiti mob justice. The kuwaiti's understanderbly are not big palestinian fans And for anyone that say's there was Arab participation in the coalition or the arabs would have solved it themselves..which of these countries would have taken on Saddam if the Americans had not taken the lead? Yeah something for the kuwait's to consider as well. Quote
