Jaffer is leaving... New Mod ??

Didn't know if you wanted to add another Mod to replace Jaffer or not, I guess its however you guys feel about it. My personal pick would be to add the other Marine to the Mod roster, "RoyalOrleans". He has an attitude problem, but its more sarcasm if anything, and he does show a good debate when provoked to do so.

 

I had concidered MRIH, but then I feel he would be a little quick on the idiot box trigger if someone (expecially AIG or CrazyWumbat) said something he didn't like. My next picks after that would probably be Spleefman, Komrade Vostok Hazzard, or Satan (fullauto) . All of these guys would, in my opinion, be excellent choices.

 

Thoughts, suggestions ??

I am a consumate warrior of the painful truth and love to dish out thrashings to idiotic comments by the youngblood. Well, the position isn't THAT prestegious, but you did deserve it.

 

Basically, all you need to do, is find the idiots and flip them shit till they come back with something relevant. There is only a few topics to focus on at any given time. Some of the off beat topics, don't worry about.

 

Basically, we just want to give GF topics credibility, we don't want it to be a fucking hate board. The only thing hate brings, is shit talkers, and the shit talkers are the ones who make us look bad. Propaganda lies, and just plain ignorance is not hard to find, its THESE ASSHOLES who deserve the idiot box.

 

I'll post a tutorial later tonight on how to use the idiot box, or you can have a go at it yourself.

 

If you click on a users name and goto there profile, you'll see a new option called "USER OPTIONS" on the right hand side, clicking this will take you into the MOD control panel, you will need to retype your password to enter it.

 

On the left hand side you will see a "USERS" box, this is where we ban/idiot box people. If you click the BAN button you will see the ban/idiotbox option screen. What you do is move the intend target to a different user group and set the time, you can practice on "happy feller" the resident GF member.

 

happy feller's password is "getalaugh" if you wanna confirm your work...

 

Other then that, let people give you all the shit they want, never idiot box them for there opinions unless the CONSTANTLY talk shit, and have fun being a dick !!.

I removed Jaffer from the mod list. I think we need one more.

I think we should choose between builder, fullauto, aig, spleefman and vostok.

My choice is close between builder and aig. Builder comes across as a voice of reason, but, can be blunt and forcefull when the time calls for it. Aig reminds me of a more outspoken ToriAllen. Not saying TA doesn't step up in the heat of battle, just, that she chooses to try and keep the expletives to a minimum.

What you think? Which one shoud it be? Give me a reason with the choice.

To add one thing. If you think someone else deserves to be concidered then nominate them and give a reason why you think they would be good on the team. I want to come up with 2 choices. Once we decide who the 2 will be we'll start a thread in premium lounge and let them decide which of the 2 it should be. While we will make the decisions on who to present them with we'll let them decide who it should be.

No, that would be taking on a 2 persona type moderation, thats goofy and lame, happy feller is just a topic starter and topic changer for trolls, I use him only to draw attention away from the usual shit.

 

I do believe we need another EASY GOING mod though, somebody who is somewhat like Bethany. But more importantly, I think we need someone who will be able to catch on quick on how to do such things as move topics/edit polls/edit options for members and such.

 

While our WEB FORUM moderating might seem off the wall, our behind the scenes coordination needs to be at a point where we can fill all these requests for polls and idiot boxing and all the other goofy shit we do to give GF the ATTITUDE that it has.

 

Personally for me, the commentary I make comes actually secondary to the behind the scenes antics and adjustments that I will make.

 

What people don't realize, is that same SMART ASS who is flipping them shit in the forums, is the same guy who is adjusting GF commentary and quotes , adjusting and resizing avatars,profile pics and such (in my own sarcastic way of course), fixing HTML errors, removing spam, moving topics, a hell of alot of shit. Basically, I try to get an end product from GF that makes people want to come back for the crazyness of the board, and the super huge egos of the members. And I do this for EVERYBODY, even the members I don't particularly care for, just so THERE final GF experience keeps them coming back to rant on some more.. Its like SD87, I've been cutting into her ass hard, but I'll get her back, and in the end, the reason she will come back is because I have taunted her to do so.

 

And thats the kind of person we need, someone who knows that there OUTER job is being an asshole, but the INSIDE job, means keeping everyone coming back for more GF attitude.

 

Personally, I'm confidant that we ALL can do that, so I think maybe at this point, we should hold off on looking for a Mod for the week and see if we can figure out WHO has the capacity to handle the REAL GF mod position.

 

Builder, will be 1 choice of mine, but we need to examine members a little better before we commit to a second choice to vote on.

 

Edit: I think that was pretty cool of you Bob, to let Jaffer keep his "WILL WORK FOR VIDEO GAMES" heading under his name, even though he is no longer a MOD, so I think it would ALSO be fair, to let Jaffer have his Mod position back in the future if he wants.

We should have a contest or something. Make them fight for it. Then we could see who really wants it, is willing to fight (without falling to senseless dribble), and handle the mud slinging. If it were up to me, I would make the two finalists conduct a debate via the chatroom moderated by one of us. Just like a presidential debate, but a little more "in your face" or "to the extreme"... as Poochy would say.

 

Perhaps set up like a list of ten topics ask each delegate their opinion, allow for banter and arguing, and move on to the next topic. The topics don't have to be anything hardcore, like abortion or Islam, but something along the lines of "If you were stranded on an island... yadda yadda yadda".

We need to get them to like coming back, they will help us increase post amounts. So NO IDIOT BOXING.. After the new month though... we'll play catch up for idiot boxers... I have a plan there too !!
