Misdiagnosing the Malady

by Patrick J. Buchanan

If a doctor, even a God-fearing, Bible-believing evangelical Christian, misdiagnoses a mortal malady, there is a probability the medicine he prescribes will do no good and the surgery he proposes may worsen the patient's condition.

Rereading the president's inaugural and State of the Union, this seems an apt metaphor for U.S. war policy.

In his inaugural, President Bush described Sept. 11 as "a day of fire

hmmm not sure what bush meant by "our freedom is under attack"...their foreign policy in the middle east was under attack.

The article mentioned israel leaving lebanon....and the Hezbollah ceasing hostilities.Israel only responded to the attacks on the northern border by Hezbollah and the p.l.o and as you know King hussein of jordan kicked the palestinians(p.l.o) out..and they settled in south lebanon setting up training camps, creating a new battle front..while the civil war raged...Israel backed the s.l.a and the christian phalangists.Syria backed the Hezbollah with money coming mainly from Iran...hoping to use the shiahs to pressure the Israeli's to give up the Golan heights.Eventually the conditions were right to pull out of this quagmire. This article neglects to clarify this.

It's a short article. I think it made it's point quite clear. I admit the Isreali situation is hopelessly muddled.
