WTF is religion doing to people???

Or rather, I should not blame the religion but the misguided followers of the religion. I dunno if this girl is Christian or what but I was taking to a girl via instant messenger and she was from Louisiana. I was sending her my compassion about the people down there when all of a sudden she replied, "Thank you for your concern but I am white, and you look black." Naturally I asked "What does that have to do with anything?" Then she told me, "It is a sin for me to date black people." Even though I was just chatting to this girl she said this. Then I asked "Who said this?" She replies..."God said that." Then goes on and on about how sinful it is. And then asks "Why you think God made so many different people?" Then a bunch of other things that kinda went off the religious subject but I won't go into that.

 

What the fuck are these parents teaching their kids??? I have NEVER heard such a ridiculous thing in my life! I am an atheist but I have never heard of dating outside your race to be a sin! And if she is religious then she is full of crap uz as I declared I was done taking to this poor girl she told me NOT to leave because I was hot. Total weirdo but that is besides the point. If parents are going to follow a religion, at least they can be fucking honest to their kids or teach it the right way! People are seriously making me sick!

I went through both testaments high and low and did not find anything about not dating black people.

 

Maybe the dipshits down there are using religion as a propaganda tool to screw with people's heads. Hmmm....what is that other area that does that?

I'm not sure it is fair to blame the religion itself. The concepts are generally good: don't steal, don't kill, be nice to everyone. What really starts the troubles is the fucked up people who INTERPRET the religious texts. Look at how many different variations there are of Christianity, and it's all based off of the same text: The Bible. In some sects-well, it may be more appropriate to call them cults-the texts become incredibly warped and twisted from their original meaning, many times to benefit the preacher. They use the "fear factor" to manipulate these people into believing every single demented word that comes out of their mouths. People spend too much time listening to others' interpretations and not enough time reading the texts on their own and deciding what it means to them. They let someone else do the thinking FOR them and that's when the bullshit begins to brew.

Being from louisiana the originally mentioned girl probably still has the mentality that existed before the civil war, or rather her parents tried to teach her that mentaility, not saying it is right, and the 11th commandmant definately is not "thou shalt not date ******s" not the last time i checked.

Well despite the title Angie, I really don't hold the religion responsible but the persons who follow that religion who are truly misguided and taint the meaning of it. And this incident happened a few minutes after I made the thread Komrade. But in any case, this behavior is totally despicable. Someone needs a severe reality check.

 

As for the Mormon thing, I am quite ignorant as far as religion goes so do they believe in God and if they do, do they really see dating (or in my case just CHATTING) with blacks a sin?

Yes they believe in God (though one hell of an "interesting" interpretation of it) As for the black thing, to BE black is a sin. A black person CANNOT become morman (or at least cannot enter a mormon temple) Native americans can BECOME white in heaven, but I remember correctly here, black people are going down no matter what. It's a REALLY fucked up religion. They borrow from the christians with Christ, they borrow from teh Jews with their "hair shirts" (To be uncomfortable or to feel pain at ALL times is to humble a man) They strive for the nazi look in their kids (blonde hair blued eyed ALL the way) and the list goes on. If you like to find insanity in a religion, mormon is the most amusing to look at.

Well, I have a story:

 

One of my best friends dated a black man for two years. Since she lived in a different state from her parents, they never met him. Last year, when she found out she was pregnant, she decided not to tell her parents he was black because they say it is a sin. (She has broken up with the guy by then and he wants nothing to do with the baby) So the baby was born in March. She STILL has not told her mother that the child is biracial. Her mother seems to suspect something is up, because she says she has a feeling that the father is black. Well. She told my friend before the baby was born that God won't punish babies who are born biracial, but he will punish the parents. Outlaw you may remember me posting about this on TAT.

 

I don't get it. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? So i totally know what you mean. It's bad like that around here. My parents actually told me not to ever bring person of another race home. Little do they know I dated a black guy and an Asian guy.

First of all, most christian religions did say it a was a sin to surround yourself with people with a different race. When the civil rights movement hit, a lot of the versions of the bible were changed to conform to societies change in culture. In fact, the Mormon church (brainwashing cult) had it specifically stated that the "black people were a cursed race that were not allowed in the church". Fuck religion. It is a controlling, multi-billion dollar machine that gets ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DONE. You want to donate your money to a worthy cause, donate it to science. At least it has something called FACT.
