angie Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Boy, when you decontextualize you really go all out! This verse refers to how God views arbetrary social conventions and mores, not gender roles assignments in the after life. There is neither slave nor free (God views them as equals, man makes distinctions and bases how they are treated on those distinctions), male nor female (God views them as moral equals although their functions are different, man views the functions as distictions that allow for different treatment), etc... If you insist on quoting scripture to us as a point of skeptical analysis, please be more careful and use relevant citations. For once in my life I'd like to actually work at rebutting you skeptics, rather than just doing the usual pointing out the obvious misreading and laughing. Douchebag. Did you NOT see the big ol' QUESTIONMARK?? And the Bible is a matter of interpretation. And I can choose to interpret it any way I like. Why do you think there are probably THOUSANDS off different branches of Christianity? Because EACH AND EVERY BRANCH interprets the Bible a bit differently. Anna Perenna Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 That wasn't the point. I don't believe in God, and neither does SD. She was merely making a point on the gender roles in the Christian religion. Nothing more. Chlorophyll? More like Bore-ophyll! But no straight men do. And to date, no woman has sent me a picture of her vaginal canal.

Outlaw2747 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 No wonder you're in the idiot box. I threw the wench in there. But someone released him/her/it. If you want to see more proof of this abomination being in the box, just look all over this site. Anyways, back to the topic... EnterNetProphet Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I have a Jesus nightlight. I looooove my Jesus nightlight. It's from the dollar store and it cost 99 cents. It's cream colored plastic. Sometimes I put a red-orange flame lightbulb in it, and he then kinda glows like he's on fire. I loved it so much I bought 4 of them, and gave them all away. I then found another store and bought another bunch of them. Over the years I've probably given away 12 of them. They make GREAT gifts. Everyone loves them. Not long ago one of the recipients told me that their favorite thing in the world was their Jesus NightLight. Then I discovered the Jesus candles. Tall glass encased candles, for - what? - 99 cents! They sure came in handy for the 2003 blackout. The way the Christian religion is merchandized is the funniest fucking thing in the world. Absolutely ridiculous...christianity(a majority) is just one big commercial business.I think they have this attitude that God owes them a living for following Jesus or something..blah!!!.Pagans need not rejoice..they flog their crapwarez as well. ...BLASPHEMERS THE LOT OF EM!!! stones them with skittles Quote
tonon Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 i agree, christianity has seemed to become a business. one that is involved in concealing child molesterers and making a profit. but that isnt real christianity, that is bs. i think, in this world today maybe if you just try to do whats right and live by it, how could god, who is suppost to be "love" send you to hell. We learnt in history class something valuable (the other day). Our teacher gave us a verbal chart on how the Roman Catholic church relates to the mafia!!!!! Quote
angie Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 LMAO did you take notes? If you did (or if you remember the jist of it) I would love to hear it! Quote http://www.darwinawards.com/ http://www.snopes.com http://www.breakthechain.org STOP THE SPAM!! Click Me You Know You Want To
TheJenn88 Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 LMAO did you take notes? If you did (or if you remember the jist of it) I would love to hear it! No, I didn't take notes. I didn't feel that this was something we'd be tested on Basically the comparison was about money. How the RC Church would take from the poor, and the money would go right to the top people so they could spend it on themselves. How they lie and con people into thinking that money buys them salvation/safety/love, etc. Pope - Cardinals - Bishops/Arch Bishops - Priests - Parishoners Take that ladder, and she basically compared it to the mafia, and how the chain of wealth travels similarly through both of them XD and how the people at the top abuse the little people's money that they stole, even though they have much of their own.
