Why do cell phones piss people off???

I have never understood why people get so pissed off about cell phones.

If I am in a place where its appropriate to talk to someone sitting next to me then why do people get pissed off if I am talking on the cell phone? Isn't that the same thing??

I can understand that there are places where it shouldn't be ringing or where you shouldn't be talking (like in a movie theatre) but I get pissed off when people pull a face at me talking on the cell when I am walking through Wal-Mart or something like that. People need to fuck off out of my face about that.

I have gone back to school and they are Nazis about phones here. I always have my phone on vibrate, if I am sitting in the lunch room and want to talk on my cell phone, I'm going to do it. I got a look the other day from a security gaurd. I was just about to tell him to bite me.

I'm a single Mother, I use my cell phone to make sure I am ALWAYS in contact with my daughters school. If I want to sit at lunch and chat to someone then why is that any of their business.

Cell fones dont piss me off ,, its the people on buses who use them that piss me off.

There fone rings normaly with rule britaina or even worse fuking crazy frog ...played loud.

Then they dont bloody talk into the dam thing they shout.

I don't care about people walking around Wal-mart or even on campus with cell phones glued to their ears. It is a problem when people are taking calls during class, or when some idiot almost hits my car because they are on a cell phone. I have also noticed how self absorbed some people are when they are on their phones. I can talk to the person beside me in a low and normal tone, and I get annoyed with the person on the cell phone talking in a loud and obnoxious manner. If you have to yell into your phone it is time to get a new service provider. I have also noticed most of the people who swerve all over the road or go 10 miles under the speed limit are talking on cell phones and are completely oblivious to the cars around and behind them. I hate when people are on their cell phones while in line at a store.

They get to the front of the line and the cashier has to wait for them to acknowledge them.

One thing I never understood with people and getting pissed off at cell phones is when people go into cardiac arrest at the thought of a kid/teen owning one, as if it's a completely alien concept.

I agree with what you guys are saying but I continue to get looks when I talk in a normal voice in places where its approriate, like in wal-mart and I'm about to start telling people to fuck off !!

I don't have a problem with anyone having cell phone as in teens if they can handle it appropriately.

I live in Florida about 45 minutes from Daytona beach, there was a young man, he was in elementary school, he was walking to school, he owned a camera phone, a paedophile tried to pick him up, the boy was able to get pictures of the man and his car with his license plate so the police knew who was targetting boys in the area.

As soon as my daughter can handle having a phone and not playing with it in school and not loosing it, I plan on buying her one. If for some reason I am unable to find her, the phone company can allow the police to track her via the GPS signal on the phone. If something is wrong and she needs me she can call me. She is young and is not allowed to run about on her own but there are cases where sickos have entered peoples homes and schools to run off with children.

I have to own up to the fact that I do at times talk on my cell phone in the car, however only on the highway on a straightaway where I don't have to be worrying about stop signs or quickly changing conditions. I don't always do this but I will answer a call that comes in if its important or make a short call if I need to.

I too hate people who have to yell in public, it doesn't matter who or what they are yelling at. I want to get one of those ear peices so people will think I'm just mental and chatting to myself if they are at the wrong angle, lol. They they really will be leaving me alone.

My provider, Cingular has just come out with a new phone that you can download music to, two items in one sounds like a space saver to me.
