OK, I'm posting this because the subject came up on my local message board and on THAT board, I tame myself down a bit with my responses.

I saw in Omaha their working harder on stopping prostitution, why is this illegal.

I'm not saying right or wrong, just wanting some opinion's.

I mean if i go ask some girl on the street(saying no weird stuff and were all of age) how much for some loving, she says 100.00 and now i can get busted. But i take this same girl out for a 100.00 dinner date and things heat up its OK. Consensual sex is not illegal, so why is it if i pick her up on the street instead of dating her.

If your married you pay for sex everyday, and not sure your going to get any but that's legal. As far as i can figure it's not hurting the mass of people, just the few involved. So why is the government stepping in and making it illegal?

great post. can't wait to see how preak responds.

I don't hang at the local bars like i used to, but when i did the ones i knew of did'nt charge. They just worked for tips, then is it ok?

whenever i go to the schuyler bars, there is always some out walking the streets (young girls). from working in the bar in columbus i noticed about 2-3. than you have your crack whores addicts that want just cash to buy drugs in exchange for sex. nasty girls, i used to see them every now and then. they are like drifters. always different girls. thing is columbus and schuyler PD's have to know about this but you never ever hear or see about them being arrested.

I would think that it would be hard to bust them. Pretty much everyone knows the cops in this town. For the CPD to pull off not getting recognized, having someone wired, and to get hooker to say whatever technical language they need I would think it would be pretty hard. Then again these are crack whores and hookers who are obviously not the smartest, or cutest. Oh wait this could never happen in small town Columbus.

Around this area, you don't need to hire a girl, there are enough HO's in this town for everyone, just gotta know where to look.

But on a serious note, I would NEVER pay for "A GOOD TIME" even if I was single again, mainly because I do not believe in casual relationships based on sex, even if its for a couple hours with a call girl. I'm the kind of person that likes to actually get to know someone first for the sake of having fun together over just "getting some".

Of course, the way I said it on THIS board is a lot less realistic from the way I would REALLY say it, and that's just for the sake of keeping the board a little more family friendly.

Edit: I'll posts something on MY board and link to it in a bit.

Personally I have no problem if someone wants to go get head or a cheap fuck out of some lousy skank, I see alot of girls at the bar who are the usual bar whore crowd. I compare them to door knobs, everyone has had a turn. Some go for free booze, some go just because their pussys are all wet and they need some cock. Usually nobody wants their skanky ass in a REAL relationship, but they do make great semen receptacles for the average single bored young guy.

Myself personally, I would NEVER pick up a bar whore or a prostitute.

I like the one saying that goes "CAN'T MAKE A HO INTO A HOUSEWIFE". I think it fits my attitude towards girls who are like that quite well.

I have thought for some time that Prostition should be legalized, taxed and regulated. Like the set up they have in Nevada. The whore houses are outside the city limits, the woman that are working legally are not out in public. The woman are safe because of the controlled enviroment and are tested for STDs regularly.

Having said that I don't indulge in casual sex either. I prefer to have a relationship with the person. But there will always be a place for the oldest profession in the world.

Phreak,

I saw this on that other site but didn't get around to respond yet. I think that prostitution is a morality law like illegal gambling that had more of a religious/social influence.

You could make a similar argument about illegal gambling being a victimless crime because you are only loosing your own money. Although with it being proven that you can become addicted to gambling, there is the potential for it to be devistating to the financial situation of the person or even a whole family. This could lead to them requiring state aid to survive which is a burden on us all. Don't get me wrong. I'm not against gambling and I like to gamble on occasion. I love going to Vegas but I wouldn't want to live there.

Prostitution is similar in that it seems like it doesn't have an impact on anyone else. In truth this too can affect other people and families. The biggest risk, I suppose would be the spread of STD's. Unless they are going to make prostitues be employed by some kind of agency or brothel and come up with state laws regulating the business like in Nevada, the risks are way too high. Even then there is still a risk. I don't know about you all but things like AIDS/HIV and Herpes are for life. These are the true gifts that keep on giving. I think that this also has the potential to be damaging to families and could potetially push the divorce rate even higher than it is now.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I think that both unregulated gambling and prostitution pose too serious of societal consequences to be ignored. Both will probably always be there but they need to be kept in check.

If we let the state or Federal government start making laws to protect us from ourselves and all we might become addicted to we are well and truly fucked.

I'm addicted to a Dr Pepper every morning and I have to have chocolate during my period.

People are addicted to alcohol, it kills them in many ways, not the least of which is when they get in the car and drive. Thats still allowed.

If people are weak minded enough to allow an addiction to control their life, thats on them. Its not the responsibility fo the Government to babysit people. If you want to sleep with a prostitute or gamble away your lifes savings then have at it, you will have to answer to your family but thats how life is.

I've always thought the worse kind of whore are the people, usually woman who marry just for the fact the man has the money, good family or some other shit. At least a prostitue is only giving a small part of herself, these woman sell themselves lock stock and barrel.

I was comparing Prostitution and Gambling because they are both morality laws. I don't think that sports betting with a bookie or back ally gambling is nearly as dangerous as street whores nor as likely to affect someone else but the possibilty of it becoming a societal problem is there.

It is too easy for a prostitute to spread an STD to someone and them pass it on to more people before they are aware they are infected. This is when prostitution stops being a victimless crime and becomes a threat to others.

I am far from being a "liberal" minded person and am against government control of every aspect of life. I just think that with the diseases out there Prostitution is a danger to society and should not be legalized. I just hope that if it is ever legalized it is monitored and regulated like in Nevada.

I hope I'm not coming across wrong. I am not looking at this in a moral manner in any way. The possiblility for others to be affected is far too great.

I never pay whores to have sex with them, that's disgusting.

I pay them to go away when I'm done having sex with them. :p

I put no stock in religion. By the word "religion" I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much "religion" in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness.

If you're already done with them, why pay em? Sounds like poor business management on the whore's part to me.:D

Usually, this would be the kind of thread I would be a forerunner on. Fortunately, everybody's already said what I would like to say. Though it is unfortunate you won't read such descriptives as "pissmops" to describe bar women.

The bonus to paying a prostitute-they're probably good at what they do, and you don't have to worry about them calling you and wanting a "relationship"

The only problem I forsee is the STD thing. My biggest concern would be that hubby sleeps with a whore, catches STD, gives STD to wife who assumes there is no need for protection since they are "committed" to each other. Some sort of regulation would need to be in play.

I would imagine that a hubby who would sleep with a whore would do it regardless of whether or not prostitution is illegal.

I don't see a huge difference between the chances of STDs from whores or from Loose Gals in the bars. I would imagine arguments could be made both ways. Whores may have more partners, but they may also get tested and treated more often than the loose gals. (or skanks, or whatever you folks "in the know" want to call them) :)

I disagree with prostitution being illegal on the grounds of the Government being too Goddamn Interested in the bedroom. Tearing it down a little, I would say that this government interest in legislating morality is a remnant of that same government having a religious ax to grind. IE, It smacks as a bit of a Bible thumper settin the rules.

Someday I hope our culture matures beyond these thinly veiled "blue laws".

Attempts to bring about reason, morality or sanity via laws will always fail. A culture is raised by raising the individual's ability to achieve reason, morality or sanity and thus make rational decisions on a self-determined basis.

The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. - Buddha

From the local board:

The State of Nebraska also used to prosecute people for adultery up until about 15 years ago. I don't want to get into a debate about the merits of whether outlawing prostitution is appropriate or not, but "the world's oldest profession" has been looked upon with disfavor since the beginning of history, mostly by the church, and I suspect it's for that reason that we have prostitution laws on the books to this very day. Tiredofwhiners makes a very good point, but just let someone try to repeal the prostitution law and see what the bible thumpers have to say about it.

I could not care less about the sex for money thing. I mean, if I could get paid that much for just having sex for a living, I'd do it! Well, ideally..maybe. Anyways. The obvious issue is STDs. The only way I can see to prevent this is having government regulated..well, whore-houses. They need to regulate, test, and provide saftey measures for the whores.

But..this has already been said.

-dances- I'm so sleepy right now.

And so..wide awake.

I can't stop yawning.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yes, that's why I felt it was better I moved this subject from my local community board to a more "UNMODERATED:rolleyes: " environment like GF.

Out of respect for the bible thumpers on the board who would freak out from all the taboo and coarse language/subject matter.
