Mohammed_Rots_In_Hell Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/football/nfl/11/13/owens.jackson.ap/index.html?cnn=yes I love this quote... "This punishment is much too severe for the charge. If he had been caught shaving points, selling drugs, carrying a gun or fighting some fans, who provoked him, and he had not shown sufficient restraint, we could understand the severe suspension, because those are very serious and illegal acts. Unfortunately for T.O., who belatedly apologized three days after the infraction, the real question is do his comments warrant a penalty this severe?" So Jesse thinks that point shaving or assulting fans should warrant a 4 game suspension. I wonder what he would advocate for a white ball player who assaulted a black fan? another 4 game suspension?... I doubt it! Quote The first amendment provides our constitution with its voice. The second amendment provides its teeth.
snafu Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Jessie Jackson is a racist piece of shit. On this suspension I think it was to harsh though. This is the first that I Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN
Jhony5 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Your right MRIH, the double standard has become an American institution. T.O. is the pinacle of the selfish athlete. I did get a little sick of the media talking about the jerk. It was like the male version of a soap opera. I like how the revern Jesse Jackass whittled Terrels actions down to "some comments he made". Your talking about a guy who was already removed from one team for the same shit. He was brought to Philly under special circumstances that he not suck the life out of the team. This guy would stand on the sidelines and yell at everybody, includung the coachs. They actualy thought he would behave because Philly had a black quarterback. I've seen foootage of Terrel throwing fits, not because the team was losing, because he wasn't getting enough passes. He was asked to make an apology, and he coudn't do it, not until it after he ran his mouth some more and got suspended. If REV. Jackson wants to make this a race thing, fine, lets do that. Lets look at what blacks are doing to team sports. Anyone that watchs American football, think about this for a second or two, how many times do you see white players dancing and showboating in the endzone? I can't remember Tom Brady running out to the middle of the field and doing the robot. Wide recievers such as Wayne Chrebet and Brandon Stokley score and hand the ball to the official. I love NFL football, always have, but over the last several years I have gotten sick of the ******s (I hate to use that word) tearing the team element apart. What happened with TO was the best thing that could've happened to stem this sort of individualism. Imagine if almost every team had a guy like that. Being under contract to play football is really no different then any other job. I would get fired real fast if I told my boss to shut up and only speak to me when spoken to. Just take a few of TO's "comments" and imagine what your employer would do if you had made these comments to them. Multi-million dollar athletes are not exempt from the same rules that we are all bonded to at our respective jobs. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
Mohammed_Rots_In_Hell Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 I don't know if the suspension was warranted or not (it is up to the NFL and the Eagles managment anyway) ... I was just concerned about Jesse's quote that assualting fans would justify a 4 game suspension. I would think that it would justify a 20 year sentance in the slammer! and what about point shaving? In my oppinion, The NFL (or any other sporting league) should permenantly bar any player for life if they were caught point shaving. Jesse Jackson is as ridiculous as he is racsist! Jhony5 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 It must be a slow week in racism if hes concerned about millionaire blacks being treated so bad. I think what J.J. was saying about the Ron Artest situation was that he thought it WOULD be understandable to permenantly remove him from the team for beating up fans/point shaving. I'm at a loss as to why J.J. is even trying to get involved. I guess he thinks hes the ambassador for all blacks. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
Outlaw2747 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Well from what I hear about the guy (I don't pay him any mind to be honest with ya.) I surely don't need any damn ambassador, especially him. The only person I need to represent me is MYSELF. The only person I need to represent me is MYSELF. Well thats what makes J.J. such a fucking idiot. He doesn't ask individuals if they want him to speak for them. He just sees their skin and assumes its his purpose in society to talk for them. Its different when people contact him and wish to have his services, but to assume that his fellow blacks are incapable of speaking intelligently tells me all I need to know about him. Hamza123 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 The suspension was too harsh I think... Regardless of what J.J. or the Eagles Administration says... 100 Touchdown passes is damn good, and they need T.O.... They could have at the maximum, released him to the free agents or better yet traded him if they don't like him that much. Quote Taking it up the poopchute from Allah since 1990.

Komrade Vostok Hazard Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Oh hell, another person using race as an excuse to to be a pompous dumbshit. Only deserves a four game suspension FOR PHYSICALLY ASSAULTING SOMEONE? FUCK THAT! Lock the fucker up and throw away the key. Or maybe its not a race issue (hey! you can always hope that some people climed out of the fucking muck) Maybe it's the typical "Athletes are above the law." mentality. Lets not get into that though.
