ImWithStupid Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Saving up for a Desert Eagle. I've got a .50 AE parkerized frame and slide. Ammos fucking expensive but worth it. It's a blast to shoot. Quote

Lethalfind Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I have a .40 Sig Pro. Fucking beautiful. I hear Sigs have better stopping power, at least a friend of mine told me that. He never leaves home without his. Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.
Cogito Ergo Sum Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I hear Sigs have better stopping power, at least a friend of mine told me that. He never leaves home without his. I assume you are talking about close quarters personal defense weaponry. If you want 1. Controllability, meaning the ability to effectively fire off more than 1 shot in a panic situation with a reasonable degree of consistency. and 2. Maximum stopping power. Then you want a Colt .45ACP - Period. I can tell you from first hand experience in combat. The .45ACP cartridge is by far the best and without a doubt, the MEU(SOC) modified M1911A1 pistol is the finest piece of weaponry you'll ever put into your hand. Period. The .45 is big, slow, and delivers massive power transfer. Besides it's the most reliable chambered cartridge in the world. Nobody I had to put a .45 into got back up or fired back at me. Ever. Before I gave up on guns, it was my favorite weapon of choice and is still the most proven close quarters combat weapon in history. I used to say that the MP5 was like hitting somebody with a fast moving chainsaw, but the .45 was like hitting them with a full swing sledge hammer. ------------------------- Okay, I finally talked about guns. Quote . I put no stock in religion. By the word "religion" I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much "religion" in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. count zero Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 What about the HK 9mm USP? I don't have any experience shooting at people, and never want to, but this indestructable beauty is sure fun to shoot, and accurate. Quote

I don't have any experience shooting at people, and never want to, but this indestructable beauty is sure fun to shoot, and accurate. My personal opinion is that unless you are looking for a concealable firearm 9mm is the minimum caliber to get and that's just if it's for fun. I also feel that if you want a handgun for any kind of self-defense you need to get at least a .40, .357 sig, or better in a pistol and .38 special or better in a revolver. The HK USP is a fine firearm but I'm not a fan of the 9mm. Quote
snafu Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Yes sir. I love my Colt 45 ACP. A friend of mine thinks I should use hollow points. He contends that the rounds could go through the target and hit something else but I think the 45 Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. snafu Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Best hollow points for a .380 are the Speer gold dots. 102 grain? That's what I have now. brass jacketed Remington Golden Saber. I'm afriad they might jam. I'll have to check them out. I'll look for those your talking about. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. snafu Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Baby Desert Eagle 40 Cal. or 45 Cal. The 40 Cal ammo is cheaper now that most of the police have gone to that Cal. Nice sweet small gun to conceal. I drool over it every time I go to the gun store. I want one soooo bad! Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. ImWithStupid Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Yeah but you can take it apart in about 30 seconds. I've heard nothing but good things about the Cx4 Storm (I'm assuming you meant the carbine not the Px4 Storm, pistol) but have not fired one myself. I'm just not a fan of the 9mm. I'd even prefer to have a HK MP5 in .40 if I were able to afford one. Quote
count zero Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You have an MP5? That must have cost you! Quote
ImWithStupid Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You have an MP5? That must have cost you! I meant that if I could afford an MP5, I'd prefer it in .40. I have an AR-15 in the M4 configuration. I'll take a pic of it sometime and put in in my gallery page. It's kinda my baby. Quote
count zero Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Sweet. Just don't turn it over when they ask you for it. Quote
