Jhony5 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 What blows me away is the parents that stick a PC in their child's room and let them have at it. Parental controls are a joke because most kids know how to circumvent that shit better then their parents. My Ex-girlfriend has a 16 year old daughter whom she allowed to do this. I told her over and over again how dumbass that it was to allow it. She would tell me how her daughter was "a good kid and has earned her trust". She even got so mad that she wouldn't talk to me at one point. So I pulled her into her daughters bedroom once when she was at school and did some rudimentary snooping. My girlfriends jaw hit the floor when I showed her what her precious angel had been doing on the net. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.

Komrade Vostok Hazard Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 It's retarded shit like this that makes my blood boil. Turn off the soap operas buddy, cuz you've had enough drama. I bet your the kind of jackass that thinks our society would function better with no laws? This is the greatest country in the world but I doubt you recognize this fact. So what would be your plan of action to combat those out there whom wish to solicit the abuse of children on the internet? Lets hear your idea. Since you don't think theres any use in law enforcement. Theres no conspiracy to "enslave" Americans by way of monitoring internet search keywords. Like I said....KEEP KIDS OFF THE NET! There are far too many dangers for them on there. And the good that does come from it is NOT worth having your child get lured into the clutches of some pedodidler. As far as the pedophiles themselves are concerned, we can keep catching them and catching them but nothing will work unless we have MORE SEVERE PUNISHMENTS. THERE WE GO RIGHT THERE. STIFFER SENTENCES AS A DETERRENT. Quote All bullshit, No Business.

BETTER PARENTAL CONTROLS. As in Parents being more in control of what their kids see and do online. None of this little johnny/jenny surfing the net unsupervised bullshit. Jhony5 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 You, my good sir are starting to make sense. THATS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. BETTER PARENTAL CONTROLS. As in Parents being more in control of what their kids see and do online. None of this little johnny/jenny surfing the net unsupervised bullshit. The parents NEED TO BE IN THE PICTURE But the Internet makes such a great babysitter, does it not? In all seriousness, companies like AOL have misled parents into believing they have created an impenetrable border between their child and the "bad" things on the NET. The kids just get around the so called parental controls, erase the temp internet files and history, and alls good. I used to sneak peeks at the old mans porn magazine stash from time to time and I don't think it did any psychological damage. But an 11 year old boy can watch a live bukakke party or a woman getting fucked by a horse, well you get my point. That can't be good for their fragile little minds. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
snafu Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It was easy for the goverment to censor what (we) our children saw before the Internet. We had the bookstores with the black windows and kept the porn from the children as best as possible. With the Internet they’ve lost control. Kids can google up anything they want. So how do we fix the problem? Do we leave it alone and out will spawn a new generation of how our children learn about sex. Or do we allow the government to intervene and try to get a censored grip on the situation? Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN
Jhony5 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Well, good question Snfu. Our country unfortunately has a history of bad parenting. Alot of pressure is put on the Federal Gov to do something. If educating your child was not enforced by law, then you know that there would be many parents that wouldn't even bother educating their children. Which would be catastrophic for our society. So ya, the government has a responsibility to watchdog our children. If we, parents as a whole, would take care of these issues by ourselves, then it wouldn't be necessary. I think most of us viewed pornography as prepubescents. Did it cause you irrefutable harm? In most cases probably not. But, as you said, kids can view whatever they want via the NET and parents are enabling this by lack of proactive measures. As I made mention of before, my EX was shocked when she saw that her 16 year old daughter had been visiting all manner of adult sites. Thats what is called "reactive" not proactive. The difference is "Oh my god, look what has been happening", as opposed to "Oh my god, look what could happen". As the generations move on, our kids are coming up dumber and more violent then previous generations. Now we can add 'more perverted' to that list. Think about that for a sec would ya? Dumber, more violent, and increasingly perverse. Sounds like a rosy future for America, huh? If we work with our government, instead of fighting them, we can take some steps to prevent this trend. Lets not turn this into a censorship issue, when it's really a neglect issue. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
snafu Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It’s not doing it now but a couple of years ago I was using google to look up the three stooges and got a porn site. I was at a new year’s party and wanted to show somebody what I had found. This time when I did it, it came up in the middle of the porn site. It was kind of funny because I didn’t expect to get the picture that I did. I had my wife and her friend standing there when I did it. Now if I can accidentally google up some porn just imagine what happens when kids do it. The government wants to stop google questions that would bring up porn sites like what happened to me. I wasn't looking for it. It found me! Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN

The parents NEED TO BE IN THE PICTURE Oh totalitarianism, how commies love you. Why the hell are people so worried about dumb kids finding porn? When you start hiting a certain age you have to start fulfilling a new need . Don't hine about kids being curious, let them. People should know what the fuck is out there and its not knowledge of it that drives them towards bullshit its something else. Similer to the "If you were given you a gun would you shoot?" scenerio. The message of it is that its not the item itself that makes people act in terrible fashions, it has to be part of them. Sheltering people from reality just makes them weak, arrogent and ignorent. Jhony5 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Why the hell are people so worried about dumb kids finding porn? When you start hiting a certain age you have to start fulfilling a new need Don't hine about kids being curious, let them. You don't know shit about child psychology and mental development, do you? I already touched on this earlier. Viewing pictures of naked women/men at prepubescent ages does not turn your child into a rapist. However the Internet provides an unsupervised child with a vehicle that allows them to explore warped fetishes that go beyond their capacity to understand or hold within proper context. Similer to the "If you were given you a gun would you shoot?" scenerio. Apples and oranges, fella. Its human instinct that provides your child with the knowledge that killing is inherently wrong. Viewing graphic XXX pornography can be understood by a child's undeveloped mind as normal. We know that it is not normal to chain a woman to the floor and shit on her chest. But if your child views such a thing with no understanding of what their viewing, then they are likely to think that this is what mommies and daddies do in their bedroom at night. The message of it is that its not the item itself that makes people act in terrible fashions, it has to be part of them. This is exactly the point, which goes against what your saying if you understood what your talking about. When a child is in the beginning stages of developing their sexual identity, absorbing such things is indeed damaging to their minds. Sheltering people from reality just makes them weak, arrogent and ignorent. WTF are you talking about Willis? Pornography is not reality, its a fantasy. A fantasy that one can make reality, which is the danger of overexposure to it. I will concede that in most cases, minimal exposure to graphic porn will not necessarily cause your child to turn into a sexual deviant. But many children, like adults, have mental disorders and development issues which feed off of outside influence. Take a child with certain mental issues and protect him/her from deviant outside influence, and the child is likely to develop normally. Take that same child and expose him to continuous hardcore pornography, and your growing your own little rapist. Quote i am sofa king we todd did.
