RoyalOrleans Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Steve Martin is and always will be a hack! No one can fill Peter Sellers shoes, nor be up to par with his portrayal of Insp. Jacques Clouseau. Now that I've said my bit, what do you think? Can Steve Martin live up to the great Peter Sellers? ImWithStupid Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I really don't think that Martin can live up to Sellers but I also won't count him out. Sellers is a hard act to follow. I wouldn't envy him as an actor. Martin although being somewhat of a hack as comedy goes he has shown some depth in his acting in movies like Grand Canyon and Simple Twist of Fate. Both of which were dramas but showed that he can act. Right now I'm going to have to vote "no" but may revisit this after seeing the movie. Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Saw it. Last night with my lovely new ladyfriend. It was ok and stayed pretty close to the original format. Beyonce is so fucking hot. I'd let her piss in my cornflakes. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
ToriAllen Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I've always liked Steve Martin. Him and Chevy Chase. I'll have to see the movie before I make a judgement. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

It's a christmas tradition, along with Little Richard's Christmas Carol. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others.
