Skaterdude409 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 The superbowl was such bullshit. seattle clearly played a better game and are a superior team. but when u have refs that are getting bribed then shit like this happens. anyone else notice the complete injustice of this game? Quote
ImWithStupid Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Suck it up. The better team won. The Steelers were the better team and played with more heart than the Seahawks. Maybe next year. Quote

Cogito Ergo Sum Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Okay... First off, I've never watched a Super Bowl start to finish in my life. Ever. Last night, I did for the first time - So here's my take on the game from my "virgin" eyes. Seattle was playing dirty tricks and got caught each time by attentive officials. The officials were impartial and made no mistakes in their calls as far as the instant replays and my eyes could see. However, Pittsburg winning the game was in my opinion, lucky. They could have really blown it there. Especially in the first half. Did anyone notice that every time Pittsburg was in control of the ball, Big Ben was constantly swamped by defensive linemen. He was constantly having to make decision "under fire". But, when Seattle had the ball, their QB (sorry, can't remember his name) had enough time to practically read a magazine article. Yes, he got sacked 2 times I think, but for the most part, he was not under the intensive pressure from the linemen that Ben was. Pittsburg was unsuccessfully running around hopelessly trying to cover the receivers when they should have focused on putting the squeeze on the QB. Seattle easily moved to ball down the field over and over and over. Pittsburg had to really struggle to move the ball. Did anybody else come away with this opinion? The finest individual play of the day was the what, 70 yard rushing TD. That was sweet. Lastly, never having been a sports fan, even I was hooping and hollering at that "Gadget" play by Pittsburg. That was a classic and Seattle didn't have a fucking clue what hit them. Well done boys! Being that I live in Findlay, (Big Ben's Hometown), I had to cheer for Pittsburg, not to mention that I hate Seattle. Cold, rainy, overcast, most depressing city in the world. Quote . DaMan Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 The first Steeler TD was not a TD. Thing is call on the field will stand in most cases when reviewing. In the replay you could see that the ball never crossed the goal line. Big Bens elbow did which doesn't count. The Seattle TD that was called back due to penalty was bullshit. Receivers and defensive backs do that kind of hand checking and it is never called. Same ref made both calls BTW. There was a holding penalty called after Seattle completed a pass to the 2 yard line. On the replay there wasn't anything close to a hold. The refs, at least the back judge and line judge, did seem to be biased towards Pittsburgh. All in all the better team yesterday lost. Seattle played much better than Pitt and if not for a couple bad calls would have won the game handily. BTW, I am a Pittsburgh fan and while I'm happy they won I know they clearly shouldn't have. Talk to me, brother. Wouldn't you have challenged that TD callback? He thumped the pylon. Geez. Cogito Ergo Sum Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Well, on my TV, I have Tivo. So I froze the frame of Ben's rushing TD. According to the commentators, the TD occurs if ANY part of the ball crosses the line. As he was descending down, the tip of the football crossed the goal line (I got out a ruler and checked). It was as he further descended that the defensive man pushed his arm backward. Granted when he was on the ground, he was behind the line, but back at the movement on top, he was over. I think that's what the judges in the box upstairs saw. They actually ruled the call, from what I could tell. Field judges don't make a call on a challenge. Right? Bottom line to me is this. Had Seattle kept up the pace of moving from play to play, and never taking a rest or allowing Pittsburg to get their balance, they would have moved the ball up and down the field at whim while Pittsburg just hopelessly tried to cover Seattle's receivers. Seattle had the much better passing game and as I said earlier, their QB had almost all of the time in the world. Seattle fucked up when they kept taking so long between snaps. They should have been playing a 2 minute warning game for the WHOLE game, then they would have toppled Pittsburg in my opinion. Quote . I put no stock in religion. Hamza123 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I agree with CES and GF. If you look... not even closley, Ben R. didn't even have the ball in the End Zone when his knees were touching the ground... He clearly moved the ball. When you look at the Pass Interference call made on the Seahawks, it's just such bullshit, elbow play is normal in these circumstances, and since it was TD, the REF should have given the Wide Reciever the benefit of the doubt. HOWEVER, I do believe Shaun Alexander should've done better. AND DAMN, first three passes were all to Sam Jackson... You never allow a three receptions in a row, on one player, during SUPERBOWL GAME. Skaterdude409 Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 the game was complete bullshit i want to know whos damn payroll those refs are on. seattle out performed steelers by a mile and your a fucktard if u say otherwise. as far as im concerned, seahawks are the better team Quote

Skaterdude409 Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 umm excuse me look at the damn stats. compared to the steelers they were gods. steelers had 3 good plays the whole game that made up their offence. they didnt even get a first down till the second quarter. now y is that? because seattle has a very good defence. but every one got hyped up about the steelers defence which frankly sucked. seattle had more trouble going through the red skins defence. ImWithStupid Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 umm excuse me look at the damn stats. Umm, here's one Steelers 21, Seahawks 10. In the end it's the only one that matters. Quote
Skaterdude409 Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 the steelers were gifted the game before it had begun Quote
scout Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I thought the half time show didn't come off too well. Had to change the channel. Couldn't stand to hear Mick sounding so bad. Or was it just me? Quote
Cogito Ergo Sum Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I thought the half time show didn't come off too well. Had to change the channel. Couldn't stand to hear Mick sounding so bad. Or was it just me? I'm old enough to be a Rolling Stones fan. In fact, I have all of their albums and enjoy their studio work. Drummer Charlie Watts is a living legend and a very nice guy in person. Most of you young people probably don't know that the Rolling Stones as a group, was around BEFORE the first Super Bowl! But, that was the WORST representation of the Stones I've ever seen. Bad Bad Bad... Old rockers belong in a studio with sound equipment and audio experts, and good drugs to make the creative juices switch on again, not on a Super Bowl stage. It was sad to see the dancers down on the field, with the darkened out fans in the grandstands doing nothing but picking their noses and waiting for the show to end. Bad! See boys and girls, obscene, useless sobriety and 60+ years of age makes for a dull Rolling Stones. Not even Viagra could have helped get that performance up; although a line or two of coke or some galloping horse would have helped immensely! After the show, reporters clamored to get backstage to interview the group but were told to come back in a few hours, the boys were napping. FYI, Mick Jagger- 62, Keith Richeads- 62, Ron Woods- 58, Charlie Watts- 64. Old farts! Quote . I put no stock in religion. No I didn't. But that's because it's still on my Tivo waiting to be watched. However, I would like to thank you for telling me the score. It'll be a nice change to sit down to a game, without all the baggage and stressful anticipation that goes with not knowing how it will end. Quote I'll just have a shit, and then I'll feel better.
phreakwars Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I had to work that night... busy as hell, locked my damn keys in my car during a delivery, had to call my father in law (who is a locksmith) to open my door. He gets it open, then my fucking car alarm goes off and it takes me a few minutes of fucking with it and flipping through the fucking manual real quick like to figure out how to deactivate the son of a bitch, finally get it shut off, deliver my goods, get back to work, and find out there is like 500 more deliverys waiting for me... usually we have only 1 driver a night, and everything is OK, but shit, we had 3 drivers and we were busy as hell but nobodys was late...whewww... well anyways.... like Tex, I have not watched it, but UNLIKE TEX, I did not tivo/PVR it on my PC....I forgot to set it... but I will however still be seeing the game as I intend to steal a copy of it VIA torrent as have many thousands of others like myself... . .
