tiredofwhiners
You only get to choose from those who have the resources to get into office. The best candidate for president could be sitting at some blue collar job right now, but would never have the chance to run. Your never going to get a fair for all president, because those who can run did'nt get to that point by doing what was right for all. They got there by doing what was right for them, and there not going to change. One of the problems i have with the whole election process is your vote does not really count. Why cant a person win by actual votes? Why should some states hold more power than other states? Quote AA's for quitters...i'm no quitter!
Michael Rudd
For the past few years France has been perusing a policy which leads to economic suicide,. If you look at their productivity you will see that it exceeds that of the US and the UK by a goodish margin, the problem is that they have restricted the hours that they can work to 35 per week so work much less time than either, they also enjoy almost total job protection which makes it very expensive to shed workers in any down turn, add to this at least 5 week holiday per annum and another 10 days (at least) of public holidays and it is not hard to see just why France is in such a mess

I'm a fucking blue collar worker that sits, however, I sit because I drive around the berg delivering boxes. That said, I'd like to announce my candidacy for the office of President of the United States of America. hugo
British productivity lags behind US and France Larry Elliott, economics editor Wednesday February 21, 2007 Guardian Unlimited Britain lags behind the United States and France in the international league table of productivity and is a middle-ranking country within the G7 group of industrial nations, according to official UK data released today. Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that output per worker across the G7 - the UK, the US, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan - was almost 10% higher in 2005 than it was in Britain. The average American worker produces a quarter as much again as the average British worker, while a French worker produces 9% more. By contrast, in Japan the average worker produces only 88% as much as a worker in the UK. Canada, Germany and Italy have levels of output per head similar to those in the UK. Using an alternative measure of productivity - output per hour worked - France is the G7 country that performs best, the ONS figures showed. French workers deliver 19% more output per hour than their British counterparts; German and American workers produce 15% and 16% more respectively. Again, the improvement in UK performance during the 1990s ground to a halt in 2002. Actually, the US and Germany are pretty close to France per work hour. snafu
Having watched how the media in the USA treats anyone that puts his/her name forward for office. It is no mystery to me that only second stringers come forward. Who in their right mind would volunteer for such treatment, To be crucified for any youthful indiscretion . In the main I don’t like or trust politicians, liars and cheats almost to a man, but occasionally someone comes along not of that mould, and they should be encouraged to come forward to take up office. But the way things are at the moment the west is doomed to be led by brainless idiots. You’re right on the media and the mud slinging that goes on in our politics. That’s like Bush and his DUI. They waited until the last minute to sling this shit even though it was a 30-year-old event. Hilary won’t even comment on certain subjects because she knows her opinion is not popular. She would rather wait and hopefully get elected. Then spring it on the unsuspecting population. We Americans help create deceitful politicians. But hopefully most Americans can wade through the bullshit and elect the best person for the job. A feat that is not allways easy. OmegaManiac
maybe we should consider the idea of opening up the presidential race to illegals, Hell technically they are the majority so maybe they should be represented as such. assholes.
