Thankfully my daughter doesn't care for Bratz. She did used to be into Barbie which is not much better I have to say.

Now she is into those infuriatingly small Polly Pockets, I find their shit all over the place.

This is like saying GI Joe causes violence (fyi: I had about a hundred of the damn things and I have yet to kill someone)

THEY'RE JUST DOLLS FOR FUCK SAKES. Albiet ones that look like freaks

(what the fuck is up with those mouths and eyes? And why are their heads so damn big?)

All bullshit, No Business.

It's the obvious anorexia and silicon lips that should be of concern to parents.

And hey, even Paris whatshername's feet aren't that big.

.....I don't understand how something with these deformities would cause any concern. I DON'T THINK KIDS ASPIRE TO LOOK LIKE MUTANTS. And when was having feet that could put Ronald McDonald to shame ever sexy?

While children probably don't aspire to look like mutants, they do pick up things from other children about how they think they should look.

My 8 year old told me that she is getting fat. She is taller then many children 1-2 years older then her. When she has a growth spurt she puts on a little weight and then she wakes up one day (exageration)considerably taller. She told me one day that she thought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were not good for you because they have 400 calories in them. These are not things she has gotten from me. These are things other children have said to her.

What I think all of us would like to avoid is any kind of input whether it be a doll that is over sexualized or other kinds of input that will give our children the wrong kind of information about their own self image. Dolls like Bratz and Barbie teach children that they are not pretty enough if they don't have the long flowing hair, tits that stick out so far that they are falling over trying to counter balance. Have you checked the stats on teen plastic surgery?? The media (toys included) have been feeding children the wrong information about what is considered normal.

I think an example of another cartoon might be in order.

The good 'ol Scooby Doo cartoon.

We have the hunky jock hero, the stunning redhead, the geeky, frumpy, glasses wearing chick (Thelma), the schitzo food addict (Shaggy), and the chicken-hearted dog who thinks he's human.

Notice how I can't remember the names of the jock or the redhead? The real stars were the geeky chick and the manic depressive schitzo. Oh, and the dog.

My point is, people relate to real people. Kids relate to real kids.

Those skanky looking retards in phreaks example are so surreal it's depressing.

Fred and Daphnie. Just in case you cared.

Yeah, but how many "mysteries" did they solve? Thelma was the brains of the outfit, and Shaggy managed to bumble his way through to a successful outcome. The others were eye candy. :p

True. Just thought I'd help.

Fred and Daphnie. Now how uncommon are those names now? (and then)

Maybe the casting crew were just trying to make geeks feel real good about themselves? :D

Anyhow, it was a good cartoon, with unlikely plots, and the geeks were the heroes, even if the jock occasionally came to the rescue. Usually he was clueless, and that Daphnie's legs and eyes were all she was good for.

I think my Bratz rants have pretty much covered my feelings on the subject. Next time you see one in a store, note the parent award on the side, then think about what kind of parents were on THAT panel.

These Bratz have been around for quite some time if my mind serves me. Even when they were released i could see that they were a bad idea, as if the pre-teen whore-alike scene wasnt bad enough, now they are force fed this drivel. I mean when i was a nipper, i wanted to be optimus prime when i grew up :D

dont tell me girls today do not want to emulate these dolls "trendy" whore fashion. There are enough little schoolgirls getting raped in my reigon for looking like a tramp thank you very much, without the need for even more. Still, it gives the local neds an excuse to go and torture some kiddy fiddling pervert.

Don't mind me. I am a fucking halfwit without a dick.

It's true, they have been around for a few years now. In fact (thankfully) they have already frown out of favor with most of the kids in my neighborhood, but when they first cam out the AL had them including the boys. It was pretty sick. I just hope they STAY out of favor

I don't know WHAT the problem is, be it shows that kids watch on TV, or toys that they play with, but you KNOW something is wrong when you see a 10 year old walking around in a barely-staying-up tube top saying "100% sexified" with her thong purposely sticking above her pantline.

Go fuck yourself.

And I said it once and I'll say it again, the fucking things are just toys, and if a 7 year old is acting like a slut then there are a LOT more serious problems and more negative influences in their lives than some humanoid-shaped piece of plastic.
