Hi there.

Good.

Yes thats right, I'm the raving weirdo. However, I'm back.

And this time....its different.

I have, what I hope to be, an interesting, thought-provoking, theosophical question concerning two of the most fundamental foundations of human nature.

They are God and War.

Firstly, war. I hope no-one wants to see war. I'm talking about any war ever fought, will be fought etc. Hopefully, most people will agree if I were to say that if there was peace, love, everyone in the world got on etc. there would be no need for war. If there were no need for war it would be great, right? No one wants to see to see people with familys dying.

This isnt an anti-war thing i.e. the current one, dont get me wrong. But, in general, if everyone gets on then there is no need for war.

Am I digging myself a hole here? I hope you understand what I mean.

Secondly, God. Personally, I have many views, none of which I will mention here you'll be pleased to know. But its safe to say I am not an Athiest, and not an orthodox Catholic. Lets just say, somewhere inbetween.

Generally, God, in which ever form you choose to worship him (and yes, I am only talking about religous people here), I'm guessing, waffles on about being nice to each other etc. You know what I mean. And I'm pretty sure he goes on about that sort of stuff in every form he takes, in any religion.

So my question to you, is this, pop-pickers.

Can you tell me of any war that has been fought, past or present, that has NOT been either directly, or indirectly caused by religion?

A final thought...

Frederick Nietsche once said "If there were no God, Man would need to create one".

Far from being a slur, on whether God exists, I take this as a nod towards human nature's ever-leaning tendencies of violence. No one likes someone being a cunt. Maybe we needed an excuse to exercise our negativeness.

I put no stock in religion. By the word "religion" I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much "religion" in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness.

 WE'VE SPENT HOW MUCH IN IRAQ?

That is easy, the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm.

Of course whenever someone uses the word indirectly they can come up with just about anything.

Does anyone really believe we would have troops in the Middle East if there was no oil there?

Please allow me to show the forum how to look really stupid ,really fast. Here we have myself ,a young 27 yr old male. I will now attempt to debate hugo about something that happened while he was alive ,and I was not even born yet. Enjoy! LOL

The Vietnam was was about what hugo? Also I do think the Middle Eastern wars were about more than oil.

One of these days, our great nation will have to pay for telling other countries how to live.

Does anyone actually believe that these backwards camel-fuckers would be any kind of threat, if they didn't have all that oil over there?

Yes, you are.

Boy do you have a misunderstanding of why wars occur. But then, you seem to think that wars are caused by religion.

Can you tell me of any war that has been fought, past or present, that has NOT been either directly, or indirectly caused by religion?

How about ALL of them.

Wars are fought over power - either economic power or political power, and when the call to war is made pressure is put on religion to JUSTIFY the war. When the Aztecs raided neighboring tribes it was because their crops had failed - an ECONOMIC reason - and religion was used to justify the raids. "We'll take their crops and sacrifice them to our gods and get back into favor with the gods."

To say that religion is the CAUSE of war is to show an absolute and fundamental lack of knowledge of history.

A Christian with a Bible is a nuisance to your comfortable level of non-belief. And a Christian with a brain cannot be as easily dismissed as you might be accustomed to. But a Christian with both is a dangerous thing.

Believe your right RO. Come on up to Nebraska - there's a lot of room to move around while the coast is getting blown up.

I guess, I'll be heading that way. If I'm forced from my home, I'll have to take a few Muslims with me before I go. I'd at least decapitate one.
