This is a debate forum with the added twist of FREEDOM OF SPEECH! Were not robots and people do like to socialize. I don’t want to be on a board that dictates what I say and how I say it. I don’t want to be on a board that keeps me from socializing or making jokes. Who cares if you de-rail a topic? The general appeal, not eddo's, I believe was more to all members and, not just mods, to see what we can do about making upping the IQ level of our debates. If you don't respect sombody's opinion to the point of turning a deaf ear, even Hugo's, then why the hell post anything directed at them, especially insults?

 

Is not it more satisfying, if one is so certain of their correctness, to not simply dismiss another and band with those of similar stances so you may chuckle about how right you all are but instead go beyond simply TELLING them they are flawed, but demonstarting HOW/WHY they are flawed. When you present your argument in such a way that you are beyond refute then you can perhaps turn a deaf ear to that which fails to counter you (That is if arrogence is a personal strong point). This does not mean countering opinion, but fact. The exchanges between CES and warmd in the 'Letter to Europe' Thread are a fine example of what we're talking about here. Posts that take more the 2 minutes to compile, require research and fact checking, links and of course the personal touch of presentation and spin that makes the information into YOUR post. And they certainly were not void of insults, but they were not the body/conclusion of the posts

This implies that I've tried explaining to eddo's allies that I must blow my whistle on eddo's tactics of deception and distortion. Had he instead been arguing that another piece of supporting evidence is that a common thread runs through most of his antics, a thread so gloomy that it disgusts me nearly to the point of physical illness, I might cede it its point. As it stands, the leap of faith required to bridge the logical gap in eddo's arguments is simply too terrifying for me to contemplate. What I do often contemplate, however, is how I admit I have a tendency to become a bit insensitive whenever I rebuke it for trying to repeat the mistakes of the past. While I am desirous of mending this tiny personality flaw, it takes more than a mass of evil conspiracy theorists to restore the world back to its original balance. It takes a great many thoughtful and semi-thoughtful people who are willing to turn random, senseless violence into meaningful action. Eddo's musings are intellectually and morally indefensible. Some people might object to that claim, and if they do, my response is: If eddo isn't fickle, I don't know who is. Eddo will do everything in his power to lay waste to the environment. No wonder corruption is endemic to our society; you'd think that someone would have done something by now to thwart eddo's plans to replicate the most hate-filled structures of contemporary life. Unfortunately, most people are quite happy to "go along to get along" and are rather reluctant to compile readers' remarks and suggestions and use them to take a strong position on its pranks, which, after all, pass off all sorts of cocky and obviously featherbrained stuff on others as a so-called "inner experience". It is imperative that we inform such people that eddo wants me to stop trying to oppose evil wherever it rears its self-absorbed head. Instead, it'd rather I roll over and play dead. Sorry, but I don't accept defeat that easily. If the only way to keep eddo's shills at bay is for me to lose my cultural moorings and become a rootless drifter in a cosmopolitan chaos, then so be it. It would definitely be worth it because he cannot tolerate the world as it is. He needs to live in a world of fantasies. To be more specific, wherever you look, you'll see eddo enforcing intolerance in the name of tolerance. You'll see him suppressing freedom in the name of freedom. And you'll see him crushing diversity of opinion in the name of diversity. One argument eddo makes is that unconscionable scallawags have dramatically lower incidences of cancer, heart attacks, heart disease, and many other illnesses than the rest of us. Ok, I had to read this a few times to get it. It is alot of info cut into many parts so the reader can see the big picture without pointing a direct finger ,more of a BIG WARNING SIGN.

The main part of this post above that stands out to me ,is the part where Phreak tells of understanding eddo has issues so problematic ,the solution could be very costly to one that would correct it ,if they wanted to pay that price for such a person as eddo.

I have paid that price ten times over ,by driving myself to madness trying to make others see these issues he has AND inflicts on people without warning.

(We all our evil in some way) I know alot of you feel that way.

This type of evil has no moral concept. It is the worst kind I have ever known ,so I have devoted my life to exposing it. Just as phreak said ,truth comes out in conversation even if it takes a very long time.

For what it's worth, when people were still posting semi-intelligently at the beginning of the thread, I agree with fullauto. It's a shame that someone's intelligence on here is smothered under some half-brained insults versus a great debate emerging from two very opposing sides.

 

Not to say that this place can't be fun, but it can also be really pointless with mindless banter. Sometimes something can be going really well, but then the debate gets downtrodden with shit slinging and blasphemous conclusions and/or statements formed only to agree with the majority.

 

There are but a few peoples posts who I enjoy reading on here: fullauto, CES...

........

There's got to be more! Every member does have their shining moments, but for consistant intelligence or debating skills, when they are given the opportunity to shine, tim and CES are on top of their stuff.

The rest of us here, while having our moments, certainly don't live up to what is known as "debating."
