mozartownsmusic777 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Seriously, could something be any more politically motivated than these pathetic excuses for award ceremonies. How many movies have won any awards that they actually deserved in the last few years? This shit is getting old. Fucking hippy liberals giving the travesty "Brokeback Mountain" awards, simply because it is about something that hasn't been accepted before: gay cowboys. Well, nothing wrong with them being gay in the movie, but just because it's about faggots doesn't mean it should be winning awards. What? Is this the sympathy, pussy awards, or is this the Academy Awards, where the winners have the best film? "Awww...look at them, creating a film about something controversial. Lets just ignore the content and quality and just give them awards because we are liberal, bleeding-heart, suckass pussies with an agenda to force-feed down the rest of America's throat because we are self-righteous, snobby twats". That quote sums up how condescending those hollywood blowhards act towards the rest of society, as if we give a shit what their mal-educated opinions are. And what about the rap songs being compared to John Williams classical scores? No wonder the rest of the world thinks we are illiterate morons. We are too busy being pimps and pimping our hoes out for a drug money. We are thugs, fo' shizzle. Fucking incredible. RoyalOrleans Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Seriously, could something be any more politically motivated than these pathetic excuses for award ceremonies. Are you asking or telling? If you ask me, anytime a (Alec) Baldwin is invited to an awards show it turns into a limp-wristed liberal political agenda. Bravo! To him! I hate his fucking ass, but he is celebrating one of the few rights we have in this country! Free speech! I despise much of the liberal agenda, but they have the RIGHT to speak up and out. Not that the filth they spew forth is of any worth or merit... any fool can figure that out. How many movies have won any awards that they actually deserved in the last few years? Uhh... Crash won Best Picture at the 78th Annual Academy Awards If you haven't seen it, then check it out. It is by far the best movie produced in the last couple of years. Phillip Seymour Hoffman won Best Actor for his role in Capote. A fantastic movie, however Hoffman stole the show in every fucking scene. Just to name a few examples... This shit is getting old. Fucking hippy liberals giving the travesty "Brokeback Mountain" awards, simply because it is about something that hasn't been accepted before: gay cowboys. As you can see here. (<---clicky-clicky), Brokeback has to be a decent movie or it wouldn't have gotten the acclaim it has. And despite the liberals (???) this movie was on par with the others it was nominated with. Also, by looking at the award graph, you can tell that Brokeback didn't win in the major catagories. Evidently, fags in movies is an old hat. Well, nothing wrong with them being gay in the movie, but just because it's about faggots doesn't mean it should be winning awards. Well since "buddy pictures" started it all, why can't they be lovers as well? I always thought that Sly Stallone and Kurt Russell made a cute couple. Is this the sympathy, pussy awards, or is this the Academy Awards, where the winners have the best film? Follow this link here.. As you can see, Crash won two of the biggies at the Acadamy Awards. "Awww...look at them, creating a film about something controversial. Lets just ignore the content and quality and just give them awards because we are liberal, bleeding-heart, suckass pussies with an agenda to force-feed down the rest of America's throat because we are self-righteous, snobby twats". All I can tell you to do here, brother, is to turn off the television. If you don't like what you see, turn your head. Not that I'm happy with it myself, however I have other forms of entertainment to occupy my time. That quote sums up how condescending those hollywood blowhards act towards the rest of society, as if we give a shit what their mal-educated opinions are. Where in the fuck have you been? You mean to tell me this whole time, you have just recently begun watching television? For the ill-informed, Hollywood has ALWAYS thought of the Joe Lunchpails and Jack Commoner in this way. Nothing new here, nothing to see. I do believe the more grounded actors, those who have been humbled in some way, are a little more in tune with the American viewing public. And what about the rap songs being compared to John Williams classical scores? Where in the fuck did you hear this? No wonder the rest of the world thinks we are illiterate morons. If you think so, brother. Don't like us, leave us. Go live amongst the Froggies and the Limeys out there. I'm positive that you'll fit in. We are too busy being pimps and pimping our hoes out for a drug money. Yeah... I let my neighbor borrow my hoe last week. He never gave me any drug money. What an asshole! We are thugs, fo' shizzle. Speak for yourself, thug-nasty. If my username isn't enough to show you where I stand on the music part of our culture, than you should re-evaluate your life. WullieTheRed Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 LOL fox aches man, I split my sides... If you think so, brother. Don't like us, leave us. Go live amongst the Froggies and the Limeys out there. I'm positive that you'll fit in. Hey, there's no need for that! As for the Oscars... well, I didn't even know it was on, so that should show you how much I give a fuck about it. Like everyone I do enjoy watching the odd film and all that game, but I can't stand the amount of back patting that goes on amongst these 'celebrities' and when half of them go up to accept the award... fuck man, you'd think they just found the cure for cancer or some shit. I prefer to watch the comedy awards, most of them buggers know it's a joke and are quite happy to let you know when they're up on that stage, that they don't really give a fuck about the award, that they don't even think it means anything. Comedians always seem a little more 'real' than the other celebrities, which is funny because they spend so much of of their lives in another world. Hmm, or do they? Quote I am a wanker

Isn't that the point? Ranting about what pisses you off? Your advice was to tell me to turn my head. What if everyone did that? Then there would not even be any threads to debate about. Everyone would just ignore the media, ignore liberals or conservatives, ignore war...etc...so as you can see, if I was to "turn off the t.v." so to speak, then there wouldn't be any point in this website. mozartownsmusic777 Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Classical music is for people who actually know something about music. Do you know how complex a Beethoven Sonata is? Took me almost a year to get the whole thing right. How about how perfect and symmetrical a Mozart piano concerto or symphony is. Classical music is for people who are intelligent enough to comprehend the sheer genius of the music that has yet to be even equaled in the history of music, or in today's "music" (I use the term "music" loosely here). Tell me, what is the tonic triad of an F minor scale? I doubt you even know what a tonic chord is. Don't go assuming you know more about music then me, because music is my main area of study. I give synposiums at a high school about music on a regular basis. I am a classical pianist. I doubt you know a fraction of what I know on music. And that's not a matter of opinion. That is fact. I used to beat the shit out of douchebags like you. I play the guitar, I was in the Drum and Bugle Corp, I marched with a Quad A Band, I play the trombone, trumpet, and baritone, I am not a classical pianist, but I know how to play. Tonic Chord When we speak of a note in a scale, we can refer to it by its number- 'G' is note number 1 of a G-major scale- or by its technical name- 'G' is the tonic note in a G-major scale. A technical name not only identifies a note, but can also give us information as to the function of a note within a scale. Further, we can build chords on all of the various notes in a scale, and identify those chords by the technical name. (i.e., a tonic chord) The tonic is the first note of a musical scale, and in the tonal method of musical composition it is extremely important. The triad formed on the tonic note, the tonic chord, is thus the most important chord. More generally, the tonic is the pitch upon which all other pitches of a piece are hierarchically centered. After tonic, the names of the remaining scale degrees (of a diatonic scale) in order are as follows: supertonic - 2nd scale degree, mediant - 3rd Scale degree, subdominant - 4th Scale degree, dominant - 5th Scale degree, submediant - 6th Scale degree, leading Tone - 7th Scale degree, subtonic - Also 7th scale degree, but applying to the lowered 7th found in the natural minor scale. In western European tonal music of the 18th and 19th centuries, the tonic center was the most important of all the different tone centers which a composer used in a piece of music, with most pieces beginning and ending on the tonic, usually travelling to the dominant (the fifth above the tonic, or the fourth note up from the tonic) in between. There can be major scales and minor scales. The tonic remains the same in these two different "modes," for a given key, wheareas scale degrees such as the third degree and the sixth degree are altered in the minor scale. Howevever, this can be seen another way. Each minor scale uses exactly the same set of notes (key signature) as some major scale and vice-versa. The only difference is which of these notes is the tonic. For example, C major and A minor have no sharps or flats. Consequently, the tonic plays an important part in determining why music composed in a minor scale sounds different from music composed in a major scale. A tonic may be considered a tonal center, while a pitch center functions referentially or contextually in an atonal context, often acting as axis or line of symmetry in an interval cycle. Pitch centricity was coined by Arthur Berger in his "Problems of Pitch Organization in Stravinsky". The tonic diatonic function includes four separate activities or roles as the principal goal tone, initiating event, generator of other tones, and the stable center neutralizing the tension between dominant and subdominant. mozartownsmusic777 Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Uh-huh...and how long did you spend looking all that information up before you logged back on and pasted it in there? I should've have remembered that the internet would offer ample opportunity for you to dig out of hard spot. But that information is exactly correct. I just don't think you knew it before you opened you trap to argue music with me. But you have answered the question I pose to all who dislike classical music. Why is all other music inferior to classical? Well, for starters, it's created by mediocre musicians who haven't the faintest clue what a scale is. Top it off with the fact that they would have a seizure if they tried to comprehend chord structure of a Beethoven symphony, and you soon see that lack of genius and the total lack of musicianship altogether. If you truly do understand all that I just read in your latest post, then I don't understand why you would even disagree with me when I say that classical music is for intelligent, knowledgeable musicians. That's all I said. You're the one getting in my face about music out of nowhere. I think you just enjoy being a dick. Quote
