I'll keep the poll closed for a few days so we can get a few posts going and idea exchanges. Then I will open it again so everyone can vote on their favorite investment choices. I'm not gonna say which investments I have now, only the choices the plan offers. Here is a Yahoo link to ALL of them.

Vote for your favorites, choose more then one, and be honest, lets see what kind of investment modeling the GF members can come up with from the graph % votes. Remember, we can't get a good statistical vote unless you vote for more then one.

Some of you may have some of the very same 401k investment options to choose from in your own jobs, so this might be a pretty interesting poll.

I won't say which ones and what percentage I am currently investing my money, but I will say that within the last 9 years, I have had a wonderful return rate !!

So how bout YOU guys... how many of you blow hards know your money ??

From what I learned in Grade 12 Marketing, I would have to say these ones are your best choice if you really wanted to narrow it down.

You're always looking for potential in the Markets, not so much on their current success. Goodluck though, it's risky business.

When God handed out financial savvy, I was on a lunch break.

My brother is a banker so he is my sole source for investment strategies. I do have an uncle and cousin who dabble seriously in the markets and it seems they are doing quite well.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Oh I haven't changed my investment in years. One of the investments I have changed to recently was the Oppenheimer Developing Markets A (ODMAX).

Now, I'm not gonna say that it is THE investment choice, but I have had a great return off of it.

401k's are a great thing, but I see SOO FUCKING MANY people fuck up their retirement plans by blindly investing, or following a stategy of a little in each.

My plan offers me the option of changing investments on the fly through the website, and I'm one of those who watches the markets, and monitors my investments closely.

ODMAX would be my choice as well.

I'm currently living off of investments right now. Here's what I always tell people.

Decide what risk your willing to take. Slow gain over the years, I have a couple of those. I know when Joshua gets in to college, most of those will be mature.

Medium risk- that's what i'm living off right now. I was willing to invest a chunk of change into some carefully researched company's and it payed off well. But I had to be able to loose some money to gain money. I couldn't pull out at the first sign of failure. I had to be able to "ride it thru". I'm glad I did, it payed off well.

Maximum risk. This has to be money you are willing to not cry over if it goes bye bye. This is what I bought my Miada with.(I sold it two months ago :( ) But it's not enough stability to carry you thru the future. That's the high stakes, ulcer riding investing that makes people go nuts. I have to be carefull with this because I like watching it a little too well.

I don't divulge what I've invested in, but it looks like you some great choices up there.

The dick has no conscience and the heart has no rational abilities.

I have many investments but my favorite by far is my cash deposit account.

The money there never goes down. No risk, no worries. It's always there and I pay no brokerage fees whatsoever to maintain it. In fact, I don't even have to pay taxes on it at all. It's all mine.

I can take money out of it but I don't. I can use it as collateral. I can do virtually anything and the balance never goes down. Ever. The best part is that I don't have to put up with an annoying broker at A.G. Edwards losing my money and charging me fees to do just that!

That is worth 100 million dollars if you ask me! :p

In all seriousness though...your next big winner among those is this...

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pm?s=OIBAX

That is, if you believing in not buying at the high which is what just about everything else you have offered to you is about. If you look at the best and worst 3 year averages and take into consideration the world market economy and the rapid development of the European and Latin American financial & business climates, this is your next big 5 year buy & hold winner by far...in my humble opinion.

You see...international bond funds bet AGAINST the dollar and as Pro America as I am, over 900 billion in foreign held US Bonds just by just China and Japan tell me that the dollar is in great peril if any of the foreign holders of US dollars makes the slightest move to divest some of those dollars. Given the impending economic firestorm from the past, ongoing and future costs of the Iraq war and excessive GOP spending and tax cuts domestically, I can clearly see a decline in the value of the dollar against the foreign currencies in the near and long term.

I put no stock in religion. By the word "religion" I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much "religion" in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness.

Oh tell me you are fucking joking... NOT investing in some type of retirement plan is fucking suicide !!

Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't I mention that I am retired? Pension, cash accounts, medical care, investments, the works. :p

Mostly compliments of buying real estate in California over the last 20 years and then selling at the ridiculous prices today, then moving to Ohio where things are cheap cheap cheap in comparison.

The only plan I make now is what to cook for dinner and what project around the house I want to do next.

However, you had better go back and re-read my first response...It has more additional information you might find interesting.

I have had a good rise in value in my house so once I get my nursing license I had planned on investing in some real estate. My house is paid for so I don't have a mortgage...

I might put about 10% in the Chinese yuan. Never normally invest in commodities or currencies but this seems like an exception. If the yuan is allowed to float you will get a huge return.

Phreak, how about you invest in building your own porn industry?

I want to report a double murder. If you go one mile east on Columbus Parkway to the public park, you will find kids in a brown car. They were shot with a 9mm Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Good bye

Brooks, I like you. Now get out of here. Go home.

Which leads to the next question.

Is Phreak hung like a hamster? Or are hamsters hung like Phreak?
