Vortex Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 History channel has been airing commericals about the new book that is currently being translated and put together.....Shrug...still pages written with an agenda im sure...but makes a great story, cant wait till its done... Good point Joker, it would have been a whole lot easier to come up with a forgery then too. Unlike todays forger who need to first find some 2000 years old parchment and ink AND write in a long dead language. Go to the top of the class Quote
slip_knot Posted April 8, 2006 Author Posted April 8, 2006 Did anyone see The Life of Brian" by Monty Pythons Flying Circus ? Remember the sketch where all those women were pretending to be men in order to get to see someone get stoned to death. They had stick on beards and stuff. Well here is my theory, Judas was a woman !!!!! It just has to be so. Go read the article again. Only a woman would say: Quote: Jesus made me do it. Quote

builder Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Simple knowledge it can be lost almost overnight. And common knowledge is not so common. The big "dumbing down" is working exactly to plan. I'm constantly astounded by the lack of basic english and math skills in seemingly bright young people. The history you speak of really is "greek" to most people, meaning they have no idea at all. What's sad is how true that is. There are so many kids my age who know almost nothing about history, have the worst math skills in the world, and can't speak correctly (using good instead of well, etc...). Lethalfind Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I think everyone would benefit from a more dispassionate examination of things like this then Christians are capable of. They WANT to believe what is currently in the Bible is all that belongs there...but is that really true? Has anyone really examined how certain books were put in the Bible and others were left out? Pretty arbitrary if you ask me and probably because the people who were responsible had an agenda of their own to push. Has anyone here read one of the older Catholic Bibles, the one with all the extra books not commonly found in the Bible? Are those books any less important then the ones in the traditional Bible? Has anyone really compared just how different Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are? Read over them and instead of trying to make them similar look for how very different they are. Its my understanding that there were 30 gospels similar to these four and somehow they got weeded out in favor of these four...WHY? You might well ask...some idiot back there must know the answer to that question. Quote I am a pathetic piece of shit leeching single mom.
Gallytuck Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I don't see why we tolerate these morons who need that spiritual crutch in order to survive. Christianity is bullshit. Judaism is bullshit. Islam is bullshit. Get a grip. What's so hard with living with the fact that we don't really know what the fuck we are, where we came from, and why we're here? There's some good guesses and some really bad guesses but world religions are fucking things up and cockblocking us from the truth. And I should be nice to sheeple? Quote
Quarky1.0 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Have you noticed something about all these Gospels, they were all written 300-400 years after the event(s) happened. I have a number of problems with this. 1: Why the fuck did they wait 300 years to write the events down. You would have through they would want to write what happened as soon as possible, to keep the events fresh and true to what happened. 2: Some of the Gospels contradict the events in other gospels. 3: How can the gospels be taken as credible, the so called witness were all long dead, unless they all lived for hundred or years and seen as though the average life span was around 40-50 years back then, they would really have made the news. If you can answer all of the both, without quoting from the stupid little book to prove your point then I will concede my point, but unless you can the whole thing sound like the deluded ranting of a psychophrenic. It doesn't seem to matter that she was the favourite of Jesus. In the building of this new crappy business/religion it seems to me that there was to be no place for women in the management. Quote

This is done not only with that gospel, but others dealing with woman. The Gospel of Philip says that Mary Magdeline was married to Jesus. The church couldn't have that now, could they? Someone that is thought of as a whore? No, they got rid of it because it would horribly set back their agenda if they were to let people see that Jesus wanted woman in the church. Quarky1.0 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Wrong, again. If ignorance is bliss you must be a very happy person. No this has been scientifically proven using carbon dating, linguistic dating and ink dating, using the first known copies of the gospels and before you say the first know copies? It has been proven that for 300 years there was no record of the gospels even existing. So yet again you have proven yourself to be the ignorant one. But then again GM and destroying the natural world is a good call according to the Gospel of Hugo a gogo. Quote
