How Will Gun-Banners Use Montana Sniper Case ?

CHEYENNE, Wyo. : The man suspected of shooting his estranged

wife through a glass door at an Old Chicago restaurant might have fled

for the woods, police said Sunday.

Capt. Jeff Schulz said people who knew David Munis, 36, told police

that Munis was a "big hunter" and an avid outdoorsman.

That Munis may have been headed for any one of the region's vast

national forests wasn't especially helpful information, however. "The

woods, obviously, is a pretty big area when you're talking about

Wyoming, Montana," Schulz said.

He said he doubted, but hadn't ruled out, that Munis was still in

Cheyenne.

Robin Munis, 40, was shot while singing in a band shortly after

midnight Saturday. Police suspect that the bullet came from the

parking lot behind the restaurant. They found the bullet lodged in a

door frame.

Schulz said police had talked with David Munis just hours before the

shooting.

The Munises had been separated for a few weeks and Robin Munis had

moved out of their home. On Friday, she called police after getting

several harassing but non-threatening phone calls from her estranged

husband, according to Schulz.

And here we thought the days of addled veterans - the

'Rambos' and 'DeerHunters' were behind us ........

What's the motto of the snipers ... something like

"Anytime - Anywhere" ?

Now just WAIT ... this case will revitalize those

anticonstitutionalists seeking to ban "sniper rifles"

- ie the ordinary bolt-action hunting rifle or ANY

gun accurate enough to hit what you're aiming at.

Once all the accurate guns are gone, the rest are

clearly 'Saturday Night Specials' and thus easy to

get rid of.

First of all, the antigun lobby isn't going to touch this case at

this point; just way too much "Duke rape case" potential - presumed

guilt without any evidence early on only disgraces all trying to

politically exploit it soon. "Mainstream" media stories say the

police in this case don't only haven't got any witnesses who saw the

shooter - but don't even know where the shooter fired from yet or what

kind of gun; the antigun lobby isn't going to Nifong this by having it

turn out it was a stray bullet from some guy sighting in his deer

rifle a couple miles from the victim.

But, so far, the candidates have been staying away

from the issue - political poison, even for Dems.

However individual STATES might take initiatives,

such as Californias efforts against 50-caliber

rifles.

Admittedly, if a jealous suitor wanted it to LOOK as

if sniper-hubby did it then the best way would be to

take a shot through a window. Dunno if a real sniper

would feel comfy about ranges anything under 500 yards

though ... and this shot was alleged to be from the

parking lot.

Still, I'll give it a 95% chance that sniper-hubby

was the one ...

COULD be ... but what are the chances ?

If hubby was in a REAL bad state of mind, yea, I can

see how he'd want to take her out in the most public

way and place possible ... especially if it were

someplace she felt 'safe'.

On the very day you posted this Buckwheat reached out and slapped you!

He directly and loudly proclaimed that we need an assault weapon ban!!

Yes, you're correct, he's finished now.

Only California is pushing additional restrictions. Every other state knows

the "political poison" that comes from fucking with the NRA and our 2nd

Amendment.

Its a virtual certainty that her husband popped her.... But, as you say,

they have absolutely nothing to go on.

He used a bolt-action rifle so no brass lying around.

It was a super-clean head shot, (like JFK) and there is very little residual

ballistic material available.

Nobody heard a sound. He was at least 100 yards away.

Textbook sniping.

Excellent shooting. I only hope he has the guts to take the execution like

a man and not off himself in the middle of the woods somewhere.

Well looks like you predicted this guy right on. He chicken shitted

out and capped himself in the woods according to the news. Very good.
