Guest Red Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I finally figured out after watching this movie back to back Saturday night who Nurse Ratched played by Louise Fletcher reminds me of. When I say reminds me of, I mean looks, mannerisms, speech, the whole nine yards. Nurse Ratched reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Very controlling and manipulative. It wasn't until Jack Nicholsons character wanted to watch the world series that I realized this. So when one of the patient goes off the reservation, she's there to intimidate or make a fool of them. When one has an opinion that differed from hers, inevitably it's her way or no way. Watcher Nurse Ratched and tell me you don't think this is Hillary. >From IMDB: Louise Fletcher plays one of the more reprehensible human beings in film as "Nurse Mildred Ratched". She is a hardened woman, one who makes the daily meetings with the group a contest to see who will win. Her stubbornness and lack of compassion for the poor guys is rather one dimensional. That's perfect because that is exactly who she is. Her strong will to keep things monotonous leads to a final showdown with the free spirited "McMurphy" in what is easily one of the most shocking and disturbing climaxes in recent memory. http://www.gonemovies.com/WWW/Drama/Drama/OneFlewRatched2.jpg http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2007/04/02/wclinton.jpg Quote

Yet another rightwing mongoloid idiot reveals just how desperate the rightwingers are -- they know Senator Clinton can wipe the floor with any Republican; they know she'll make a competent, capable president who will restore dignity and respect for law to the White House -- so, they really have to reach for shit to throw at her, hoping that something will stick. For those without a clue, here's a little background on the movie: The film was adapted from a novel by Ken Kesey, a '60's counter- culture guru, well-known for his founding of the Merry Pranksters, and participation in the Acid Tests. It was brought to the screen by director Milos Forman, who is recognized for his many, anti-establishment movies like: Cuckoo's Nest (1975), Hair (1979), Ragtime (1981), and The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996). It was produced by Michael Douglas, a hardcore Hollywood liberal, who has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic canidates, including Barack Obama, AND, you guessed it, Hillary Clinton. Cuckoo's Nest is an edgy, progressive product of the return to realism movement in Amerian cinema during the'70's. Maybe you Conservatives ought to stick to art and media that you can easily understand. I suggest Fox News, Toby Keith and The Waltons. Quote

I watched this movie for the first time in many many years and as I was watching it she reminded me of Hillary. And I listened to Louise Fletcher's dialogue I started to think that i've heard someone speak like this before. It took me a few moments to realize this was Hillary. Why do liberals get so upset about something like this? When you guys are always on the attack with regard to Bush I don't get upset and twisted up inside. What do I care if you hate Bush. How does this affect my life. People constantly make fun of Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly and Dick Cheney, yet it doesn't concern me and if you search through all of my posts you won't find any posts where I take these personal attacks on others personally. You libs need to chill out already. PLEASE don't take it personally. Quote
