Something interesting about global warming....

Take a look at the middle graph. It shows a continuous drop-off

in the number of weather stations over the past twenty years.

 

An interested party has theorized that the stations were closed

due to budget cuts, and since it costs more to run a station

in isolated areas these closures would have affected more

rural stations than urban ones. This party states that if

you look at isolated stations vs urban ones, you see little

if any warming - leading to the idea that some of the

warming seen in the data may be due to urban heat

island effects getting worse, rather than an overall effect.
