You are elected President in November 2008. You take office in

January 2009.

The new Attorney General brings charges of treason, malfeasance, and

attempted subversion of the Constitution against George Bush and Dick

Cheney. A grand jury indicts them on all charges and a jury finds

them guilty and sentence both to life imprisonment.

Bush and Cheney appeal to you for clemency.

What do you do???

Juries don't sentence people; judges do that. But I digress.

Isn't it obvious that a President who allowed his Attorney

General to bring charges(and no AG would do so without his bosses

approval), would not go for clemency?

Of course your whole premise is fatally flawed, since there

has been no treason, etc. If there was, the HOR should impeach...why

wait until 2009?

Depends on whether they were really guilty or the conviction was

political. I would pardon Bush if he was convicted over a few wire taps

because Clinton lobbied long time for and finally got voice recognition

super computers which listen to virtually every phone call made in the

US and records any hits for key words or key phrases for later review.

In fact the fuss made over Bush's wire taps is actually a smoke screen

to give more credibility to the massive eavesdropping system.

The most guilty thieves in the US are the super rich who own the Fed.

I would too.

You're wrong.

From http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/23/washington/23scotus.html

The Supreme Court invalidated California's criminal sentencing law on

Monday, ruling that the 30-year-old statute gave judges authority that the

Constitution places with juries.
