Just a suggestion; if you would summarize the points made and reference the web

sites as suppot for your post you would get a lot better response.

Not many people will bother to leave their newsreader, cut and paste the cite

into their web browser and read the referenced articles without an idea of what

they might be saying.

I know I don't and suspect most others just skip these posts as well.

Agree.

On to the Israeli thing...

Does anyone know why Israel would want to attack Syria?

I mean... does it have a reason, or is it just for fun?

It is a strange question. While they are paranoid that Syria might attack them

or aid those, like Hamas and Hezbollah that are a threat to them, attacking

Syria would not negate that threat. To the contrary it would make that threat

come true.

Perhaps they think that the casualties they would suffer now would be less than

those that might occur later. Peace talks are, of course out of the Question.

Why they might have to give back the Golan Heights. What do a few more, or

more, deaths matter when there is land at stake?

You need to learn to use your newsreader, or get one that works.

I just clicked his highlighted urls with no problem.

Different newsreaders have different functions. And I still wouldn't just click

on a url without knowing it was worth my valuable time!

It's odd that these stories about a war soon between Israel and Syria

keep coming up. At first I thought there was nothing in them, but now

I'm wondering if there's no smoke without fire. I just don't see how

either side could benefit from attacking the other. Some say Syria

will attack if the Golan Heights are not returned, but why the alleged

desperation over getting the GH back now? To suddenly go to war to get

the GH back? It just doesn't make much sense.

Syria's not suicidal. While they might be able to inflict some damage on Israel

there is not a snowballs chance that they would actually win.

No, it is Israel who would come up with some pretext for an attack, just like

they did in Lebanon. And they do have some motivation for acting within the

next year or so. That is the American election. Right now they could use

Nuclear bombs and the Bush Administration would cheer them on. The next

Administration may not be so easily snookered.

Sad state of affairs. Just one more reason both Bush and Cheney should be

impeached.

You'll never know if its worth the time until you do it.

However, if the site isn't something easily recognized it might be dangerous

to just clikc right over there....

Syria is the conduit through which Iran-based support for Hezbollah is

provided.

Squashing Syria before hitting Iran would eliminate one terrorist support

vector.
