Guest Blackwater Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A suicide car bomber drove his vehicle into an army patrol in Zayyouna, east of Baghdad Tuesday, killing eight and injuring nine others, Iraq's Interior Ministry said. Among the dead were three Iraqi soldiers. Four soldiers were wounded in the attack. In central Baghdad, a car bomb exploded in a parking lot near the Iranian embassy late Tuesday morning, killing four people and wounding three others, an Interior Ministry official said. The attack took place in the Jumhoriya bridge area of the capital, according to the official. The ministry also said that the bodies of two Iraqi police officers kidnapped over the weekend were found Tuesday in western Baghdad's Mansour district. They were abducted Sunday in the capital while guarding Atheer Communications Company -- a telecommunications firm. Also in Mansour, gunmen opened fire on civilians who were waiting in line at a gas station, the Interior Ministry said. Three people died in the attack and two others were wounded. Early Monday, one person was killed and two others were wounded in an explosion in eastern Baghdad's Adhamiya district, a U.S. military statement released Tuesday said. Meanwhile, U.S.-led coalition forces detained three suspected terrorists, including a local leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, during operations in Mosul early Tuesday, a U.S. military statement said. "We're putting continuous pressure on al Qaeda in Iraq leaders and their networks," said Multi-National Force-Iraq spokesman Maj. Marc Young. - - - - - Ooooh ! We detained three whole 'suspected' terrorists ! THAT makes it all better ! Proves we're WINNING !!! Right ? Impeach Cheney and jail him for conflict of interest. Call the generals, tell 'em to pack their bags and bring it all home. Find the war profiteers and throw them in jail along with their buddy Cheney. Leave these Iraqi yahoos to slit each others throats in peace. We're DON'T have a handle on this, we WON'T have a handle on this - EVER. It's an ungovernorable situation and our hand-picked "government" there couldn't decide which end of a hard-boiled egg to open first, much less take charge of an entire country. It won't be any good tomorrow or a thousand tomorrows from now. Half of them are working for the insurgents or al-Qaida or al-Sadr or Iran or themselves or who-knows-who and NONE seem to be working for "Iraq". Pull the plug and fall back to plan 'B' or 'C' or 'Z', whatever is most appropriate. The major military 'fix' for international terrorism hasn't worked and isn't going to start working. It's not that kind of enemy and it's not going to fight our favored kind of war. The ruthless Russians couldn't deal with these fanatics, Israel has been at it for over 50 years and can't deal with them - and WE can't deal with them either. They won't be appeased, they won't be bought-off. "They" aren't even organized enough to really call "they" at all - which is part of the problem. What works for one faction at one moment won't work for the rest. We need some completely new strategies here - somewhere between "totally ignore then" and "nuke 'em all". The Army way clearly ISN'T the way, capitalism and communism don't make a dent. They're not all fanatice, but they don't HAVE to be. It only takes a few percent. So what do we do - build a huge fence around the whole moslem world and try to cut 'em off from the universe ? Didn't keep the Mongols out, didn't keep the barbarians off Hadrians ass, doesn't even keep out Mexicans. It's time for those Plan 'B's - 'Z's now people ... so come up with your best stuff - or start dressing your girls in black bags and prepare to bow towards Mecca five times a day ...... Quote
